This past weekend we had a fantastic time finishing off our season of strong 3rd place finishes with Regionals at Gore Ski Bowl. Andrew Seigel had an amazing race weekend and tied for first place! All racers gave it their all and have shown amazing improvement throughout the season. The weather could not have been better and we also had an amazing time exploring the town of Chester, NY. Special thanks to our seniors and team leaders, our sponsors, our wax techs, and most importantly to the Gengel family for taking such amazing photos all season, supplying our team with feasts at every race, and being our #1 supporters. Next stop Nationals in Lake Placid!

Fun weekend of Mansfield Divisional Championships at Rikert Nordic Center in Middlebury, VT! Yet again the men's and women's teams held a strong third place finish in both the classic 15k on Saturday and skate sprint relays on Sunday. We had the BEST wax of our season thanks to SKIRACK and the help of wax tech alumni Thomas Clayton and Allie Skahen! We also had some strong 4th place finishes including both Bailey Gengel and Andrew Seigel in the 15k and the Vermont B girls relay team. Yet the biggest victory of the weekend was first year Neva Cote winning the 3-legged costume race!! Once again thank you to all of our sponsors US Sherpa, Butternut Mountain Farm: The Vermont Maple Sugar Company, and Darn Tough Vermont Socks, and to our amazing parent volunteers/photographers. Next weekend marks our last team races at Gore for Regionals but we will continue to become stronger and stronger for nationals in Lake Placid.

We had a blast racing this weekend in sunny and snowy Lake Placid! Andrew Seigel had an amazing first place finish in the 15k skiathalon on Saturday and UVM had yet another strong 3rd place finish overall. On Sunday in the skate relay both the men's and women's A teams got 3rd and the girls B team was close behind in 4th. Many racers have been showing great improvement throughout the season and spirits were very high despite the cold temperatures!

Yet another fantastic week of racing at the Castleton University invite at Mountaintop Inn and Resort! Both the men and women's teams kept our strong overall 3rd place finish and Andrew Seigel placed 1st in the classic 7.5k! All racers greatly appreciated the hospitality of the Jerome family for hosting us and the generosity of our sponsors and family/friends. Next weekend is the Clarkson invite in Lake Placid!

Our second race weekend was a success on the brand new Paul Smith's College course! On day 1 both Bailey Gengel and Andrew Seigel placed second overall in the sprint qualifiers and Neva Cote, Chelsea Patch, Sam Holt, and Owen Molind all made it to the finals. The second day was a skate point-to-point 7.5k race and UVM placed third overall in both men and women with top 3 scorers Neva Cote, Bailey Gengel, and Sophie John for women and Andrew Seigel, Sam Holt, and Jack Fannon for men. We are so appreciative of our sponsors, our amazing wax-tech alumni Allie, our parent supporters, and our team leaders for organizing this amazing weekend. Next stop Mountain Top!

Some of our speedy racers are featured in this film about the race:

First race weekend in the books and what a weekend it was! We were over-the-moon excited to be able to host the first Spike Clayton Memorial Invite this weekend! We put up some stupendous results and were fortunate to be joined by over 100 skiers from 11 different schools! We could not have done it without the support of the great people at Sleepy Hollow Inn, Ski & Bike Center, the cozy socks from Darn Tough Vermont Socks, the scrumptious treats from Butternut Mountain Farm: The Vermont Maple Sugar Company, the toasty hats and mittens from US Sherpa, the support of SKIRACK, family and friends who cheered us on and volunteered, our wax techs/alumni, and our fearless team leaders! We cannot wait to head to Paul Smith's College next weekend for more racing!
