Rocky Mountain Youth Rodeo A fun and easy going youth rodeo in Cowley WY 2026 on May 16th at 9am. Geared towards beginners. Kids compete in exciting rodeo events.

She stopped taking pictures as a means for income and does not want recognition. But a thank you would be nice.

What an incredible day we had Saturday at the Rocky Mountain Youth Rodeo! ❤️🤠

We are so thankful for EVERYONE who helped make this rodeo such a success. From the beautiful weather, to the smiling kids, to the cheering crowds — the entire day was something special.

A huge thank you to:
- The amazing volunteers from OK and Water of Life Church
- Kevin & Sherri Cooley
- Sarah Trotter
- The Hahn Family
- The Gernhart Family
- Cowley Riding Club
- Shana Klaasen that takes pictures for us every year (that will be available soon)
- Those who donated to help make this event possible
- Everyone working behind the chutes
- Those who stepped in wherever help was needed
- The wonderful people helping with concessions
- Those running the inflatable bounce houses and face painting
- The kind folks checking on volunteers and making sure everyone had food and water throughout the day
- The parents, grandparents, families, and friends cheering on not only their own kids — but every kid in the arena

And of course, THANK YOU to the contestants. One of the best parts of the day was hearing kids cheering for each other, celebrating wins together, helping one another, and showing true sportsmanship. That kind of encouragement and support is exactly what youth rodeo should be about. ❤️

Events like this take an entire community coming together, and we are incredibly grateful for all of you. Thank you for helping make another RMYR such a fun, welcoming, and memorable day for these kids. We already can’t wait for the next one!

Attention 🚨
Loads of questions coming in about start time! ⏰

Check in starts at 8 am!
While check in is going on the 0-5 events -
Dummy Roping
Stick Barrels
Goat Ribbon Pull
are all happening in the arena. 5-7 competitors in these events will need to go through them as well.
Grand entry starts as close to 9am as possible.
Followed by ALL ages in goat tying.

What to expect- when all the events are in the arena- there is a timer at each event start line with a clipboard. Stand in the line and when it’s your turn, tell the timer your name. When the timer says ‘Go!’ take your turn and head to the next event.

⏰ Rodeo Starts at 9:00 AM

We are excited to see everyone for a fun day of kids, horses, learning and rodeo memories! Please read through the following information carefully before rodeo day arrives:

⭐ SIGN IN OPENS AT 8:00 AM under the Crow’s Nest
ALL contestants MUST sign in AND have a waiver signed BEFORE entering the arena. No exceptions.

💵 CASH ONLY
• $10 per event
• $10 Hide Race
• $20 Team Roping

📋 Draws will be posted BOTH on Facebook later this week AND on the wall at the rodeo grounds the morning of the rodeo. Please double check your entries when posted.

📢 IMPORTANT REMINDER 📢
ALL updates, weather announcements, draw changes, schedule adjustments and rodeo information will be posted on the page ONLY.

Please keep an eye on the page leading up to and throughout rodeo day. We will not be sending individual messages or updates elsewhere.

🤝 Parent volunteers are there to HELP!
This is a beginner and learning environment. Volunteers help rope, pull the hide, assist behind the chutes, help with gear, and help kids get on stock. We are all here for the kids and want everyone to succeed and have a great experience.

⚠️ A reminder to all contestants and families:
Drama, arguing, and poor sportsmanship will NOT be tolerated. What the judges and arena staff say is final. Period.

Need a little extra time between events? Need an entry rolled to the end? JUST ASK! We are happy to help make the day run smoothly for everyone.

If you rodeo frequently, compete more than a handful of times in the year, win while competing more often than not, compete in both open and youth…. This rodeo is not for you. We reserve the right to turn kids away if we believe their rodeo skill level is more than beginner/learning level. Our goal is to give beginners or those trying to learn a place to compete against like competitors. PLEASE DO NOT ENTER IF YOU ARE MORE THAN BEGINNER LEVEL!
