This is a great step forward for silencers and NFA items but there is a lot more to it than what is being spread on social media platforms. So many questions are still unanswered.

The ATF has 60 days to appeal, and this is only a current win for the named plaintiffs in this case. Meaning this doesn’t apply to most suppressors or people. (Please do your homework before an irresponsible FFL allows you to do an illegal transaction). The ATF has also not stated how to classify silencers yet, if they are no longer considered NFA, what are they? There is no direction on how to run them on a 4473. Do we run them as a pistol, rifle, other? Can they be sold to in-state and out of state customers? Do NFA laws still apply to my other suppressors or are they grandfathered in? (Assuming it was purchased from the named plaintiffs).

If we, as a Federal Fi****ms licensed dealer act in the grey area that the ATF later states is incorrect, we can lose our federal fi****ms license. (We have seen way too many FFLs lose their license over "incorrect" paperwork). Worse, it could put our customers at risk of being part of an illegal transaction that could affect us both. We do not want to put our customers at risk, and the last thing anyone wants is the ATF showing up at your door to confiscate a suppressor because the paperwork was done incorrectly.

We have contacted the ATF and have gotten a response,and will continue seeking clear guidance. For now, per the further clarification we have received from the ATF, we will continue following the current NFA procedures and will be holding off on any transactions outside of those procedures until further notice.

For now, untill we get clear direction, we cannot responsibly facilitate a transaction outside of the current NFA procedures. Thank you for your understanding.
