Coyote Hunting Farm Style: Take Two

Some days I just manage to amuse and impress myself 😂 So I went to my Cabin on the greens late afternoon hoping I could catch a coyote. I packed up and grabbed a fresh battery for my Infrared equipment. Got a nice fire in the wood stove going as I proceed to get everything on my gun.

To my dismay, I realized that although I packed a fresh battery… I realized that I didn’t get the battery with the battery sheath that straps onto the butt of the gun !! 😂 😂 😂

Well dang… I am not going all the way back to the house! That is when my MacGyver kicked in. No duct tape in my hunting bag BUT I found other useful tools to get the job done!!!

I found one of my red leather gloves that have no insulation in them but they have a tackiness to them that will grip to my gun stock. So I wrap that around the battery. Next I came upon my rubber disposable gloves that I have on me for skinning so I tied two together for length. Put the leather wrapped glove to the butt of the gun, stretched the rubber gloves around and tied them in a knot!!!

😂 😂 😂 That MacGyver dude ain’t got nothing on me!!! Not bad for a 61 year old lady!!! So what is the craziest fix you have ever had to come up with out there in the great outdoors?? 😜

This story is too cool not to share! Although the article only briefly mentions the “flutes” possible use in hunting, I loved that they were able to recreate the calls and their sounds! Well it seems to be starting a tradition around here… The Eve before Rifle Buck Season Opens after I get settled into my hunting shack! This boy at 6:35 pm came a calling! No Buck yet but that’s ok… I am Happy waiting!
