California Grapplers put in another hard session tonight as we continue preparing for next week’s trip to Las Vegas. The work doesn’t stop and every practice is another opportunity to get a little better…We’ve got one more week of tough wrestling before we hit the road and this group is embracing the grind every step of the way.

To all of our Grappler dads, Happy Father’s Day weekend! Thank you for the rides, the encouragement, the sacrifices and the support you give these athletes every single day. We appreciate everything you do. 🖤💛🫶🤝

SAVE THE DATE! The California Grapplers Wrestling Club is excited to announce that 2024 NCAA Division I National Champion Richard Figueroa will be our featured clinician for this year’s Summer Wrestling Camp!

July 31 – August 2 (Friday–Sunday)
Northview High School Wrestling Gymnasium

Camp Schedule
• Friday: Afternoon registration & check-in
• Saturday: Full day of instruction
• Sunday: Full day of instruction

Richard Figueroa’s accomplishments include:

Youth Wrestling Parent Meeting: Last night, over 45 parents packed the classroom, including many families just beginning their wrestling journey.

We discussed our summer session, practice expectations, upcoming competitions, fundraising opportunities and the future of middle school wrestling in Covina. Most importantly, we answered a lot of great questions from our parents.

As the California Grapplers Wrestling Club approaches 30 years of youth wrestling, we’re reminded that our success is built on the support and involvement of our families.

Don’t forget to check the BAND app for our fundraiser contest. Every wrestler who participates will earn a prize and your support helps fund travel, coaches, camps, equipment, and team activities.

Northview Wrestling is excited to host the L.A.W.A. Wrestling Tournament on Saturday, June 13, 2026, at Northview High School in Covina.

This USA Wrestling sanctioned event is open to boys and girls in the 8U, 10U, 12U, 14U, 16U, Junior and Open divisions and will feature Folkstyle, Freestyle and Greco-Roman competition.

Tournament Entry Fee
• $22 Online Registration
• $30 Walk-Ups

SESSION 1
Weigh-Ins: 7:00–8:00 AM
Wrestling Begins: Approximately 9:00 AM
• Kids 8U, 10U, 12U, 14U Folkstyle
• Kids 8U, 10U, 12U, 14U Freestyle
• Junior Boys & Girls Freestyle
• 16U Boys & Girls Folkstyle

SESSION 2
Weigh-Ins: 11:00 AM–12:00 PM
Wrestling Begins: Approximately 12:00–1:00 PM
• Open Men & Women Freestyle
• 16U Boys & Girls Freestyle & Greco
• Junior Boys & Girls Folkstyle & Greco

Note: Second-session wrestlers may weigh in during the first session.

Tournament format will include Double Elimination and Round Robin brackets with medals awarded to the Top 3 finishers in each weight class.

All wrestlers must have a current USA Wrestling membership. Coaches must present a valid USA Wrestling Coaches Card.
Online registration (www.usabracketing.com) closes Friday, June 12 at 8:00 PM.

Day 1 of our California Grapplers Summer Session was a huge success! A special thank you to Coach Leonel Sanchez, Coach Phan, Juan and Percilla for leading an awesome first beginner class. The room was packed with new faces, great energy and future champions getting their first taste of wrestling.

Missed Day 1? No problem! It’s not too late to join us. Registration is still open, and our Summer Session runs through August 13.
