Salsa Flyways are flying out the door!

That’s right folks, I’m excited to announce that I’m offering NEW ! While I really enjoy and take pride in refurbishing used bikes, I’m still a business that needs to survive, so adding a couple new bike brands to my offerings will help fill a few gaps.

Let me know if a new road, gravel, hybrid or mountain bike is on your wish list and I’ll see what I can do for you 🙂

Believe it or not, I’m still alive! Barely… 🫠 Among all the tuneups, restorations and pop-in services, I’m still able to get some deep dive projects done.

Last month, customer Chris reached out and asked if I’d be willing to strip his Cervélo down to the frame so he could send it off for repair after the chain rubbed a hole in the chain stay. No problem!

expertly handled the carbon repair and I rebuilt it with a new chain, new cables/housing, fresh GP5000 rubber (in a classy brown wall 👌🏻) and fresh bar tape.

This bike now looks and rides like an exotic sports car 😍

Stunning, early 2000’s Rodriguez in for an inspection and basic tuneup, when I noticed a crack in the rim of the rear wheel 😢

Because this is an unusual size (650C) and it’s using an older Campagnolo drivetrain/hub, I had no choice but to build a new wheel. Luckily, I was able to source a new old stock Sun M14A rim on eBay and I have the ability to cut my own spokes in-house, which made building a fresh wheel a piece of cake 👌🏻

This beauty is ready to roll for another 25+ years 😍

Surly Preamble parts bin bike! Customer reached out and mentioned they had a bunch of spare parts and was looking for a new work commuter. Based on the parts available and his sizing, I did not have any used frames available, but I was able to order a new frame. The Preamble is a great value for the money and was a perfect choice for his new commuter, so I ordered it, along with a new Chris King headset, hammered Velo Orange fenders and a Thomson seatpost. Everything else was provided by the customer.

The bottom bracket shell and head tube were chased/faced before assembly of the GXP bottom bracket and King headset. Once that was done, the rest of the assembly was a piece of cake. Quality parts make a big difference, both in assembly and enjoyment/use for the end user 👌🏻

If you’d like to discuss a custom bike build, please let me know! I’m willing to work with any bike and any budget 🙂

Bicycles have always been a form of freedom. I stand with many others who are choosing to shut down tomorrow and take a stand against those who are trying to strip those freedoms from us, unlawfully kidnapping and murdering good people in our streets.

If the 70’s were a bicycle, it would be this 80’s Schwinn. I can smell the wood paneling, lava lamps, carburetors and cigarette smoke like it was yesterday 😂

This was a super fun restore! Lots of surface rust, but a little steel wool brought all the chrome back to life. New chain, cables, gold housing and some bitchin’ tan and brown Schwalbe Fat Franks added some modern touches without taking away from the 40 year old charm. And the classy sheep skin saddle cover is like s**g carpet for your butt 🤣

Who would rock it? 👋🏻

Lemon lime anyone?

FOR SALE: Raleigh Cadent 2 converted for cross or gravel! Size: Medium (5’-6” to 5’-10”)

It’s the time of year to work through some of my used bikes and give them the Celerity Cycles treatment! This Raleigh started as a hybrid with lower end and HEAVY parts, so I tore it down and started over. The steel flat bars were swapped for some aluminum Salsa Woodchipper drop bars. The steel triple crankset was replaced with an aluminum Sram 1x with a 40T narrow-wide chainring and the Tourney 8-speed drivetrain was swapped in favor of a brand new Microshift Advent 9-speed drivetrain with a clutched rear derailleur and 11-46T cassette. I also swapped the Promax disk calipers for some lightly used road-pull Sram BB7’s, which were needed to work properly with the road drop bar levers.

All the consumables have been refreshed as well. It has brand new tubes and 38mm Teravail Cannonball tires, a new KMC X9 chain, new bottom bracket, cables, handlebar tape and pedals. It’s practically a brand new bike! With all of these changes, I was able to shed THREE POUNDS off this bike (28 to 25lbs), make it much more modern and kept the budget low for a beginner rider.

All that being said, I’m asking $650, sales tax included, for this one. As always, my used bikes come with a one year warranty on drivetrain and brake components and comes with a complimentary fit and safety check/adjustment after the first few rides.

Come check it out!

Taking a little down time in the next couple of weeks. Hope everyone has a wonderful and safe end to the year.

Just want to thank everyone for a great first year! Not going to lie, I was a little skeptical about the idea for a repair and refurbish business model, but we have a great community here and everyone has been more than supportive, so thank you 🫶🏻

Today is the winter solstice, so longer, warmer days will be here soon enough. Plans for more groups rides and summer activities are in the works. If you’d like to collaborate with a ride or repair opportunity, please reach out!

Happy holidays and happy new year!
