Four months ago, I wrote this post. After hearing today's news, it's difficult to put into words how disappointed I am. The people of Chicagoland deserve better.
Silver linings after a Bears loss? I think I found one...
When the Bears are playing with life, it’s not just the fans who benefit. The entire city feels it.
It’s the waitress picking up extra tips to help send her kids to college. The stay at home parent running a custom Bears t-shirt business out of the garage to make ends meet. The ride share drivers grinding all weekend getting fans to the game, the bar, and back home safely.
From sold out hotels to local shops moving more merch, the ripple effect is real. When the Bears matter, Chicago moves differently.
Its not just about the money. It’s the pride, joy and feeling of belonging. Hearing “Bear Down” from a stranger or “Did you catch that game?” while waiting in line at the grocery store.
In a world that feels more divided than ever, there’s something powerful about how one team can bring an entire city together.
Sports aren’t just about wins and losses. In Chicago, when the Bears are alive, the whole city wins, even when the scoreboard says otherwise.
