Signup is now open for Baseball, Softball, and T-ball!

Information below: Deadlines, game days/times, age breakdowns, and league information.

The deadline to register with regular fees is Monday, April 20th. You can still register through Friday April 24th, however you will be subject to a late fee. Registration closes on Friday, April 24th @ midnight.
In order to keep players with their current school classes the cutoff date for all softball and baseball age groups will be August 31st of each year.

Below are the projected dates and times for the upcoming summer baseball and softball season.

Boys Baseball (Dickinson Co League Council Grove, Herington White City, Hope, Rural Center, Abilene, Chapman, Junction City, Solomon)

Pony 14-18 - Tuesdays and Thursdays games 6 & 8pm
Season: End of May through the end of June

Bronco 11-13 Tuesdays and Fridays games 8:15pm
Season: End of May through the end of June

Mustang 10U Tuesdays and Fridays game 6:30pm
Season: End of May through the end of June

Coach Pitch Boys 7-8 (Flint-hills League CG, Osage City, Mission Valley, Lyndon, Auburn, Santa Fe Trail, West Franklin) Mondays and
Thursdays 6:30pm
Season: Middle of May through the end of June

Girls Softball (Dickinson Co League CG, Herington, White City, Hope, Rural Center, Abilene, Chapman, Junction City, Solomon)

A/B 14-18 Mondays and Thursdays 6:30 and 8pm
Season: End of May through the end of June

C/D 10-13 Mondays and Wednesdays 6:30 and 8pm

T-Ball 4-6 (CG, Alta Vista, Dwight, White City) Wednesdays and Sundays 6:30pm

Please join us for our 72th Annual Easter Egg Hunt!
Saturday, April 4th @ 10am
Over 4,000 eggs will be scattered around Fairgrounds Park and Bolton's Soccer Complex! Bring a 🧺 and have some fun!
🐰 Ages 3 years and under will be in the park northeast of the Aquatic Center
🐰 Ages 4, 5, and Kindergarten will be at Ben I Smith Baseball outfield
🐰 1st-2nd Grade will be on the east half of Bolton's Soccer Complex
🐰 3rd-4th Grade will be on the west half of Bolton's Soccer Complex
We will plan to all meet at the old Soccer building for announcements prior to the hunt starting!
Can't wait to see you all there!

Deadline for regular fees > February 9 - March 9
Deadline for late fee signup > March 10 - March 13

Practices will begin the week after Spring Break. (Week of March 23, 2026) There is not a defined time or date for practices. Coaches will determine the best dates and times that work for all players and parents.

$25 Pre K ~ Projected Start Date for Games: April 9th (Bolton Soccer Complex) Games will be played on Thursdays 5:45 pm & 6:30 pm, Sundays 3:00 & 3:45pm.

$30 Kindergarten – 1st Grade ~ Projected Start Date for Games: April 9th (Bolton Soccer Complex) Games will be played on Thursdays 5:45 & 6:30 pm, Sundays 3:00 & 3:45 pm.

$30 2nd – 3rd Grade ~ Projected Start Date for Games: April 6th (Bolton Soccer Complex and Herington Park Complex) Games will be played on Mondays, Tuesdays, or Thursdays. 5:45 & 6:30 pm (Teams will not play on all 3 days; probably 1 or 2 games/week)

$30 4th – 5th Grade ~ Projected Start Date for Games: April 6th (Bolton Soccer Complex and Herington Park Complex) Games will be played on Tuesdays or Thursdays. 5:45 & 6:30 pm

The City of Council Grove, Recreation Department is seeking applications to fill the following positions for the 2026 spring and summer season:

Council Grove Aquatic Center: Assistant Manager/s
Life Guards and Concessions Workers

Council Grove Recreation Department: Field Maintenance, Concession Workers, Referees, and Umpires.

New and returning employees must submit a new application annually.

Please return completed applications no later than Monday, March 3, 2026 to Council Grove City Hall (205 Union St) or the Council Grove Recreation Center (1020 Old Hwy 56)

Applicants of all concession positions must be 14 years of age or will be turning 14 prior to beginning employment.

Applicants of lifeguard positions must be 15 years of age prior to completing the required American Red Cross Certification, which will take place in the middle of May 2026.

Updates for the is weekend at CGRD

3rd - 6th Grade Basketball for tomorrow Saturday January 24 has been cancelled. All area directors will be working to get games rescheduled. (All coaches have been notified individually)

K-2 Basketball Clinics for Sunday January 25 will also be cancelled due to extreme cold/snow and also illness among many of the participants. An individual message will be sent to each parent later this afternoon.

It's that time, again! 🏀 Registration is now OPEN!!
We will hold clinics for the K-2nd graders here at the armory on Sundays beginning Sunday, January 4th. Clinics are to help teach the fundamentals of basketball from dribbling, passing, and shooting.
Grades 3rd-6th will play surrounding communities in the Scott Brown League. The games will be held on Saturdays beginning approximately January 3rd, 2026. Projected practice start date is December 1, 2025.
🏀 Kindergarten Clinics: January 4th, January 11th, January 18th, January 25th, February 1st, February 8th @ the armory from 1pm-1:45pm.
🏀 Kindergarten Scrimmages: February 15th and February 22nd @ the CGES Elementary gym from 1pm-1:30pm.
🏀 1st Grade Clinics: January 4th, January 11th, January 18th, January 25th, February 1st, February 8th @ the armory from 2pm-2:45pm.
