Romey Stewart Golf Competitive Amateur Golfer on the VGA Tour, Navy Veteran, & Deputy Sheriff

I began playing golf at the age of 19, and quickly developed a knack for the game... By the time I was 24, I was down to a single digit index, and began competing on the US Amateur tour, eventually grinding my way down to a 0.8 index... In 2006, after a rough but eventful couple years in competitive golf, life decided to take me in a different direction, by the way of the military, and beginning a

career in law enforcement, which ultimately led to a complete break from golf completely.....

In the fall of 2021, I stepped back onto the golf course for the first time after a 10+ year break, and fell in love with the game all over again! In 2024, with a new found love, a lot of determination, and some coercion from a good friend, I returned to competitive golf on the VGA Tour, and started a whole new journey BACK TO SCRATCH!! This page was created to document my new golf journey... It will be filled with ups and downs, good times and bad times, disappointment, determination, fun, laughs, cries, and a whole slew of emotions... I hope you will join me... LET'S GO!!!

Golf in high temps can be dangerous if you don't take the proper precautions...

✅ Start hydrating the evening prior to your session.

✅ Don't underestimate the power of SHADE! Getting out of direct sunlight as much as possible.

✅ Hydrate thoroughly before and during your session with drinks containing electrolytes.

✅ UV arm sleeves are a game changer! They block out sun, reduce the amount of sunscreen you need, are cooling once you start sweating, and the compression is good for your arms.

✅✅ PRO TIP #1:
Freeze a couple bottles of water or sports drinks, and set them in your cup holder once you hit the course. They will melt slow enough to give you cold hydration for a couple hours.

✅✅✅ PRO TIP #2:
Soak a few wash clothes in water and then freeze them. Put them in your cooler and occasionally wipe your neck, face, and head during your session to cool off.

We Celebrated our 15 year Anniversary on the golf course today, and my wife got her very FIRST par EVER... AND 3 bogeys!!... She only plays maybe 2 times a year, so that's pretty dang good!!

I think I enjoyed watching her play more than my own game today... ❤️⛳
