Happy Birthday to this guy! 🎉

Not only does Bob get to live his dream every day teaching jiu-jitsu, but he’s also somehow managed to collect more hobbies than most people have free time.

A few things you may not know about him:

🏁 He grew up racing stand-up jet skis and still rides them today, because apparently sitting down is overrated.

🎾 He plays tennis and has a slice so nasty that grown adults still talk about it afterward.

🏍️ If the weather is remotely decent, he’s probably trying to find an excuse to ride his dirt bike—or convince someone else to go with him.

⛷️ He loves skiing and can usually be found choosing the steepest, fastest, most questionable route down the mountain while his family wonders if his life insurance is current.

🥋 And when he’s not doing any of those things, he’s teaching jiu-jitsu, helping students build confidence, and somehow finding enough energy to do it all again the next day.

The older he gets, the faster he goes and the more hobbies he picks up. At this point, I’m pretty sure his midlife crisis is just becoming better at everything.

Happy Birthday, Bob! We love you and wouldn’t have you any other way. ❤️

Sometimes it's easy to focus on belts, stripes, and techniques, but for kids, Jiu-Jitsu is often about having fun, learning cool moves, and building confidence along the way.

Every shark bite, roll, and ninja get-up is helping them develop coordination, discipline, resilience, and a love for being active—all while making friends and having a blast.

This is what youth Jiu-Jitsu is all about. 💙

Some of the most important lessons in Jiu-Jitsu happen long before a child earns their first stripe or belt.

Our Mat Munchkins are just beginning their journey, and we're grateful for the parents who step onto the mats alongside them, guiding, encouraging, and supporting them every step of the way. ❤️

These moments are about more than learning a move—they're about building confidence, developing discipline, creating trust, and making memories together. The lessons learned on the mat often become lessons that carry over into everyday life.

To all of our Mat Munchkin parents: thank you for investing your time, patience, and energy into your children's growth both on and off the mats. Your support makes all the difference.

Join us this morning at 10:00 AM for the We Defy “Ruck & Roll” Open Mat! 🥋💪

All evening classes are canceled today in observance of Memorial Day.

Come train, connect with teammates, and help support the We Defy Foundation and the amazing work they do for combat veterans. ❤️

Quick reminders:
- Open to All Adult students in the community
- Open to Gracie CB students
- Youth under 8 need an adult on the mat
- Youth 8+ must have an adult present
- White belts under 3 stripes may drill techniques, but will not spar
