The Lear Brother’s had the pleasure of having student-teacher Jillian Shanks learn the ropes of becoming a future Strength & Conditioning/Physical Education teacher over the past 16 weeks. She did an amazing job learning how to lesson plan, grow knowledge, build student rapport, as well as a number of other things in her time at Saint Albert. Miss Shanks will be missed by staff and students on the hill - We wish you the best in all your future endeavors and thank you so much for all you did for the students at SA! 💚💛🏈🏀🏐🥏🏋🏻‍♀️🏏

This is Cory and I’s 4th year running the summer weightlifting program at Saint Albert and the past 8 weeks have been one of the most enjoyable summers we’ve had yet. These kids have came in day in and day out and worked their tails off with 1 overall goal in mind: become a better athlete - this means physically, mentally, and spiritually.

Huge shoutout to all of the coaches who have been in every morning helping these athletes - Coach Woods and football staff, Coach Shea helping out with the MS sessions, Coach Cannon, Coach Wettengel and girls basketball staff, Coach Lantz and Scarborough as much as their busy summer schedules would allow, and little Eli for giving up most of his summer and spending it with the high schoolers in the weightroom!

It is evident that all of these coaches share one common goal, which is to build the foundation behind the scenes for all of our 7-12th grade student athletes! 💪🏻💚💛

Also… wanted to give a HUGE S/O to our solid middle school crew! They showed up on a consistent basis and worked their butts off in very hot weather, as they lifted later on in the day! Very proud of these youngsters! The future is bright for them!! 💪🏼🔥

On Thursday we celebrated the end of a very successful testout week, and the end of summer workouts with our annual breakfast pizza feed, some basketball knockout, awards for top lifters, and some new SA weights swag for the kids to show off their hard work this summer. Just wrapped up with week 2 of summer weights and couldn’t be more proud of these kids!

Aside from tossing weights around, we’ve been fortunate enough to utilize our new laser timing system to test flying 10’s, broad jump, and pro agility.

Goodluck to all sports over the weekend and hopefully get some rest. See you guys on Monday! 💪🏻
