Clinger’s Big Day Propels Coudersport Varsity Falcons Past Galeton

Lillian Clinger drove in five runs on three hits to lead Coudersport Varsity Falcons past Galeton 18-13 on Monday at TBD. Lillian Clinger doubled in the third scoring two, doubled in the second scoring one, and doubled in the sixth scoring one.
Both offenses were strong at the plate as Coudersport Varsity Falcons collected seven hits and Galeton 20 in the high-scoring affair.
Galeton got on the board in the top of the second inning after Schott doubled, scoring two runs, Casher singled, scoring one run, Batterson drew a walk, scoring one run, Hand singled, scoring one run, and Zur singled, scoring two runs.
Coudersport Varsity Falcons tied the game in the bottom of the second thanks to a walk by Olivia Dunn, a ground out by Becca Lehman, a double by Lillian Clinger, a hit by a pitch, a fielder's choice by Jocelyn Cornelius, and a walk by Josie Chang.
In the top of the third inning, Galeton went back into the lead after O'Donnell singled to the left side of the infield, and Hand grounded out, each scoring one run.
Lillian Clinger doubled down the right field line, which helped Coudersport Varsity Falcons tie the game at nine in the bottom of the third.
Galeton captured the lead, 11-9, in the top of the fifth after O'Donnell doubled, and Batterson grounded out, each scoring one run.
In the bottom of the fifth inning, Coudersport Varsity Falcons went back into the lead after Lillian Clinger grounded out, and Jocelyn Cornelius singled down the right field line, each scoring two runs.
Galeton tied the game in the top of the sixth thanks to a double by Schott, and a single by Casher.
Coudersport Varsity Falcons jumped back into the lead in the bottom of the sixth inning after Becca Lehman walked, Lillian Clinger doubled to the left side of the infield, Kynder Billings doubled to the left side of the infield, Saige Fox tripled down the right field line, and Jocelyn Cornelius walked, each scoring one run.
Aubri Lagrua earned the win for Coudersport Varsity Falcons. The right-handed pitcher allowed 20 hits and 13 runs over seven innings, striking out nine and walking four. Schott took the loss for Galeton. The starter went six innings, giving up 18 runs on seven hits, striking out seven and walking 13.
Kynder Billings collected two hits for Coudersport Varsity Falcons in three at bats. Megan Ellis paced Coudersport Varsity Falcons with four walks. Overall, the team had patience at the plate, collecting 13 walks for the game. Lillian Clinger, Saige Fox, Josie Chang, Kynder Billings, Jocelyn Cornelius, Megan Ellis, and Becca Lehman each stole multiple bases for Coudersport Varsity Falcons. Coudersport Varsity Falcons ran wild on the base paths, collecting 37 stolen bases for the game.
Galeton piled up 20 hits in the game. Casher led Galeton with four hits in five at bats. Schott, Casher, and Zur each drove in two runs for Galeton. O'Donnell and Carlson each collected multiple hits for Galeton. Schott stole two bases. Galeton stole six bases in the game. Galeton didn't commit a single error in the field. Carlson had the most chances in the field with seven.
