Halloween is getting a new name in Old Town Cottonwood! The City of Cottonwood and the Cottonwood Old Town Association are teaming up to bring the community a new combined Halloween celebration, Treat Street, on Saturday, October 31, 2026 from 5-7 p.m.

Treat Street brings together two longtime local Halloween traditions: the City of Cottonwood’s annual Trunk-or-Treat and the Cottonwood Old Town Association’s Main Street Trick-or-Treat. By combining the events, the organizations are creating one larger, family-friendly Halloween celebration in the heart of Old Town.

Treat Street will offer a fun and safe way for families and community members to celebrate Halloween together. Families will be able to enjoy trick-or-treating opportunities with participating Old Town businesses, while the popular Trunk or Treat portion of the City’s former event will continue as part of the celebration within a portion of Main Street that will be closed to traffic.

A partial closure of Main Street will be in effect for the event, similar to the City’s annual Walkin’ on Main event. There will be no curbside parking on Main Street in Old Town from Pima Street to Yavapai Street on Saturday, October 31. Main Street will close to traffic at 2 p.m. and is expected to reopen by 8 p.m. the same evening.

The Old Town Jail parking lot will remain open for general use during the event. Drivers are encouraged to use Cactus Street as a detour route while this portion of Main Street is closed.

“We are excited to bring these two community Halloween traditions together as Treat Street,” said Jak Teel, Community Services Director. “This collaboration gives families and visitors an opportunity to enjoy Halloween throughout Old Town while supporting our local businesses and creating a safe, welcoming celebration for the entire community.”
Residents and visitors are encouraged to make plans to join the City of Cottonwood and Cottonwood Old Town Association for Treat Street this Halloween!

If you are a local business, organization, or community member who would like to host your own decorated trunk in the trunk-or-treat portion of Treat Street, please email [email protected] to sign up. This year’s theme will be “heroes & villains” and space is limited!
