Passing the test was just the beginning.
A few weeks ago, Allie landed on her head during gymnastics practice.
Fortunately, she had already completed a baseline assessment through The Pure Athlete program before the injury occurred.
Because we had that baseline data, we were able to accurately diagnose her concussion, establish a starting point, and guide her through a structured return-to-play progression.
She crushed it.
Step by step, Allie progressed through the concussion protocol with flying colors and completed her re-testing today, clearing an important milestone on her path back to competition.
But here’s something many athletes, parents, and coaches don’t realize:
Just because an athlete passes concussion testing doesn’t mean the work is done.
Research shows athletes who sustain a concussion are 2-4 times more likely to suffer a non-contact lower extremity injury in the months following their return to sport.
Why?
Because concussion recovery isn’t just about symptoms.
It’s about restoring the systems that drive athletic performance:
✅ Balance
✅ Coordination
✅ Visual processing
✅ Reaction time
✅ Dual-tasking ability
✅ Strength
✅ Stability
✅ Movement control
At The Pure Athlete, we don’t believe in simply saying, “You’re good to go.”
We believe in continuing to build athletes up after they’re cleared so they can return stronger, more resilient, and better prepared for the demands of their sport.
Allie has earned the opportunity to get back to competition.
Now we continue the process of helping her stay healthy and perform at her highest level.
Great job, Allie. Keep pushing forward—we’re proud of you. 💪🤸♀️
