Great start to the first game of the season with a 5-0 win over Springfield. The boys have been working hard and it paid off. One of the best all around games we’ve seen!

Thank you to all the players and parents that participated in this years indoor season! It was a great learning and fun experience for all.

We will begin our spring outdoor season through Kidsports for 7/8 grade boys. Registration deadline is Feb 22nd and practice’s begin next week.

We would like to thank all of the parents and players for their dedication and commitment this season. It’s been great to see the improvements they have made and we’re excited for the future. They played hard all season and post season regardless of the end result we are proud of them!

*We are going to hold off on our banquet and just do one banquet per year at the end of spring season along with team awards.
*Indoor registration is now open. Please let us know ASAP if your child would like to play. The fee will be around $60-$70 per kid depending on how many kids sign up.

Fantastic start to the season with 3 wins and 1 tie over the weekend. 0 goals allowed over 4 games. We’re excited to see what the future holds for this great group of young talented boys!

CG United Registration Update‼️

Kidsports has changed their registration policies starting this fall. All players looking to play CG United this season will need to individually register through the Kidsports website and pay the $140 (see below for registration link). Under “school attending this fall” you will choose Cottage Grove. Under “Notes-Coach Request” you will note Jesus Urenda. Under “Notes-Teammates Request” you will note CG UNITED. Registration deadline is 8/6!

After further consideration we will NOT cut any players from Cottage Grove therefore all 7th-8th players are welcome to register. Depending on the number of players that register we will either make one or two teams.

6th Graders have a possibility to join but it has to go through a petition form a parent will need to fill out when they register. This is beyond our authority and you will need to contact Kidsports to confirm your child is approved or not to join the 7-8th age group.

We apologize for any inconveniences as we navigate through this new transition. Kidsports has a completely new set of rules that goes through a board per the Sports Manager at Kidsports Brian Bell.

Reminder first practice will be Monday Aug 4th 3:30-5:30pm with a parent meeting at the end of practice.

🚨Attention CG United families🚨

We are currently in the process of registering for the upcoming Kidsports season under new coach Jesus Urenda and continue the CG United program. At this time we’ll only have one team consisting of Fall 2025 7-8 graders (up to 18-20 players) with possibility of some 6th graders depending on number of players.

The long term goal for the CG United is to continue developing soccer players in our community and preparing them for the next chapter in their high school careers and beyond.

As we move forward we are encouraging players to continue to participate in both the CG United program and SVA if possible. Although for our high school programs to become successful we need youth players to play together as much as possible to develop team chemistry, skills, and knowledge that recreational soccer doesn’t fully express.

Lastly I would like to thank Coach Brian B for his dedication and commitment in starting the program. We talked about it for years prior and to finally make it happen was a huge step. We wish him nothing but the best in his future endeavors at EMFC.

First practice will begin Monday Aug 4th 3:30-5:30pm at Lincoln Middle School. Practices will be Monday, Wednesday 3:30-5:30pm. Season begins 9/6-10/12. There will be 8 games with a preseason jamboree and end of season tournament. We will register as a team.

To the CG United Family,

I would like to extend my sincere appreciation to each of you for your support throughout my coaching journey. As we are all aware, life often presents changes, and we adapt accordingly. My own life has undergone significant transformations in recent years. With that in mind, I wish to inform you that I will be transitioning from my role as a coach with CG United. I have been offered an opportunity to coach for a club program, and after careful consideration over several months, I have decided to pursue this new avenue in my coaching career and explore its potential. CG United will always hold a special place in my heart. I am eternally grateful to many of you for the opportunity you gave me as a coach. Thank you, parents and athletes, for entrusting me with the privilege of being your coach.

Weekend Report: our spring season at the starting line. Last weekend all three squads were in action. Check out how CG United did against all competitions.

5th-6th played two games this weekend. First match Saturday was against Willamette-Williams, winning 9-7. The second match of the weekend the squad battled to a 2-1 victory of Springfield.

Cottage Grove A 7th-8th had one match this weekend, there opener against Willamette-Aguliar. The team found the back of the net often winning 8-2.

Cottage Grove B 7th-8th had two game this weekend. First one was against Springfield. The team fell behind 2-0 but with some grit turn the match around winning 3-2. Their second match of the weekend was against Willamette-Navarrete. The team took care of business winning 3-0.

Overall a successful weekend but we have a lot to improve and see where we can go as units. Thanks to all players who stepped up and played with other teams.
