Quick update: the Riverfront Fountain is currently offline while we take care of a mechanical issue.

It will likely stay off for the rest of today, but we’re hoping to have it back tomorrow. We’ll post an update around 9 a.m. Thanks for your understanding while we get things fixed!

Our Summer Exercise Schedule begins June 22-August 28, and you can check it out below! Come workout with us at OAC.👇

💧Steady Strides Workout: M-F 9-9:45am | Perfect for those looking for a comfortable low to medium steady pace. Low to moderate intensity.

💧Channel Challenge: M-F 8-8:45am & 12-12:45pm | Ideal for those seeking a challenging cardio experience without the hard impact on your joints. Moderate to high intensity.

💧Hydro-cise: M-Th 6-6:45pm | This music driven workout blends endurance and strength training by moving with and against the current. Moderate to high intensity.

💧Aquatic Movement: F 4-4:45pm | Combines exercise, music and water support to create a positive, encouraging fitness class for individuals with special needs. Low intensity.

Toddler Time and Open Recreation are back - you heard that right! Here's a breakdown of the schedule👇

🏊‍♀️Lap Swim: Mon-Sun
👶Toddler Time: Mon, Wed, Fri, Sun
🌊Open Recreation: Mon-Sat

Levels 1&2 of Our Liquid Degree Program focus on Bobs & Floats - Why?

Level 1: Bobs:
When kids practice bobs, they’re learning how to:
1. Put their face in the water comfortably and build confidence in being fully submerged.
2. Stay calm and recover after going underwater
3. They teach rhythmic breathing, which is essential in learning how to swim

Level 2: Floats & Glides:
1. Rest and conserve energy while staying calm in unexpected situations
2. Front and back glides help teach proper body position that reduces drag and helps swimmers move more efficiently through the water. This directly improves stroke development and endurance

Nivel 1: Inmersiones (Bobs)
Cuando los niños practican inmersiones, aprenden a:
1. Poner la cara en el agua con comodidad y desarrollar confianza al estar completamente sumergidos.
2. Mantener la calma y recuperarse después de estar bajo el agua
3. Desarrollar una respiración rítmica, que es esencial para aprender a nadar

Nivel 2: Flotación y Deslizamientos
1. Descansar y conservar energía mientras se mantienen tranquilos en situaciones inesperadas.
2. Los deslizamientos boca abajo y boca arriba ayudan a enseñar una posición corporal adecuada que reduce la resistencia y permite a los nadadores moverse de manera más eficiente en el agua.

Myth or Fact: "The Riverfront Park Fountain isn't treated water, they just pump it straight out of the river."

BIG MYTH!

FACT: The water in the Riverfront is chlorinated and filtered water that is maintained by Aquatics and Parks Staff multiple times a day so the water stays safe and clean for your enjoyment!

Hands up if you're excited for fountain season!!🙋‍♀️

The Riverfront fountain will turn on tomorrow and run 10am-7pm all summer until September 8th.

We'll see you on the Riverfront!

The Fountain Opens This Friday!

Thanks to all of our wonderful patrons who sent in their photos! We put a lot of hard work into maintaining the fountain and we love seeing our community out there enjoying it!
