Well deserved awards for these two hard workers

Congratulations to the Davidson siblings! We had 6 kids wrestle in the NYWAY state tournament this weekend and only 2 made it to the podium.

Everly Davidson with an impressive run going 3-0 before falling in the finals taking 2nd place. All 3 of her wins were against opponents she lost to earlier this year. Making this accomplishment even more impressive she's only 4 going against 5/6 year olds. She had an impressive record this year of 45-13 with 33 of those wins by pin. Her future is bright in this sport!

Grayson Davidson started off going 2-0 in a 15 man bracket before falling in the semi finals and wrestled his way back to the consolation finals where he lost a close match to bring home 4th place for the 2nd year in a row. His goal is to place higher next year. We are very proud of Grayson for his leadership this year on and off the mat. He closes the season with a record of 49-18 with 28 pins.

Everett Tompkins had the biggest bracket with 27 kids. He had a record on the day of 3-2 but fell just short of making the podium. An impressive accomplishment for this young man as a 2nd year wrestler he shows a ton of improvement from last year and we have no doubt he's going to do great things in this sport. He finished the season with a record of 41-10 with 30 pins

Hunter Sanford also had a large bracket with over 20 kids. He is a 2nd year wrestler and one of our most skilled and athletic kid on the team. He's also one of the hardest workers in the room and it shows. He wrestled a tough first match winning 14-11. His next 2 opponents were very tough and he was not able to come out on top. This young man also has a bright future in the sport and we couldn't be anymore proud to have him on our team this year. He ends his season with a record of 32-12 and 20 pins

Preston Allen is also a 2nd year wrestler and one of our toughest. He lost his first match of the day but came back strong to get a pin his 2nd match. His 3rd match he wrestled with a ton of grit but lost by points cutting him short of making the podium. Preston is a great kid to have in the room and also one of our hardest workers. We look forward to having him finish his last year with the youth team next year. He finished his season with a record of 16-9 with 8 pins.

Gabriel mathy is a 1st year wrestler but has done well in his league matches so we put him in the state tournament. He lost his first 2 matches taking him out of the tournament. Although he didn't get the results he wanted he shows a ton of potential and has a great mindset win or lose. We look forward to working with him in the future. He ends his season with a record of 11-5 with 7 pins.

It was a good day of wrestling. 7 kids went to NYWAY state qualifiers today and 6 of them made it to states on March 8th.
