What is a ride-a-test?

A dressage ride-a-test clinic (often called a "fix-a-test" clinic) is a mock competition where a rider performs a chosen dressage test for a licensed judge, receives a scored critique, and immediately takes a short coaching lesson to fix mistakes and improve technique.

How It Works:

The Ride: You enter the arena and ride your chosen test from start to finish just like at a real show.
The Critique: The licensed judge (often a USDF or USEF official) scores and comments on your performance on an official test sheet.
The Lesson: The judge or an assigned clinician sits down with you or steps into the arena to re-ride troubled movements, explaining how to adjust your riding basics for higher scores.

If you aren’t feeling the “ride-a-test” vibe, you are also welcome to take a lesson with Kim!

September is going to be a busy month over here! But, we wouldn’t want it any other way!🎉💪🏻

Ally may have just left yesterday, but we already have her next visit on the books!

Lucky for us, Ally has agreed to come out to us monthly! That means lots of opportunities to ride with her! 🐴 So come & join us!

Huge thank you to Ally Grillo Saltonstall for coming out for a whole day of learning! There were some amazing rides & breakthrough’s today! It was so great seeing everyone & their progress!

Cheers to 6 years of Crown Hill Farm 🫶🏻

All thanks to one (seemingly harmless) question: “Do you want to buy a farm?”

August 24, 2019, Veronica Sympson Krendel & Bob Krendel closed on this 60 acre slice of heaven😍

& a wild 6 years it has been😜

Everyone now sees a pretty, functioning farm with happy horses (for which we are forever grateful!)

What most people haven’t seen, was the amount of blood, sweat & tears (so many tears 😅😂) that have gone into this (never ending, sorry dad!😬) whole property (barn, apartments & house) renovation. But, let’s be real - we all know Bob & Veronica love a good challenge!🤭

While bringing this historic farm back to life, this journey has tested & humbled our family in oh so many ways, but I think we honestly can all agree it’s worth it (even with the hard work & late nights). We began this project in the beginning of COVID era (that was its own challenge), but it allowed us to spend a whole lotta quality family time together while renovating! 😂

I mentioned historic farm above - for those of you that don’t know, this farm was once 5H Acres - famous for its past as a riding & instructor training hub. We have been fortunate enough to hear many stories of its past from past clientele.

But like they say “teamwork makes the dream work”- we could not & would not be where we are today without the countless hours of help our various friends along the way who have contributed to making this dream a reality. & for that we are forever grateful.

We have met so many wonderful people & horses on this magical journey that have truly touched our lives. ☺️
