Friends of Recreation raises money for scholarships to the Cortez Recreation Center.

Spring is here and summer is peaking around the corner! It's a great time to check out thr rec center. They have a lot of classes, the pool, walking track and of course the gym equipment. If you or someone you know would love to join but it's not in your budget, check out our scholarships. Don't let the monthly fee stop you from being healthy!

The Friends of Recreation Fund
Established June 2003
Raises money for scholarships to the Cortez Recreation Center for those who would otherwise not be able to afford the fees. The primary fund raising project was the "Stones for Scholarship" where by individuals and businesses purchased inscribed stones set around the flagpole in front of the Recreation Center. FOR would like to show appreciation to Nicci Gray Crowley for her time serving as a Non-Voting member of the Friends of Recreation board doing her time at Onward A Legacy Foundation. She was presented with a stone and a handmade tote bag, made by Debi Berger, president of FOR.
