Just short of 5 inches of rain here at the club Sunday through Tuesday morning. Expect standing water in pistol/rifle bays. We are working to open shotgun fields, which may open late.

Please do not drive or park off the improved roads and parking areas.

We had 1/4 inch of rain Saturday and another 1/4 this morning by 9:00 am, so expect some standing water in bays/ranges and low spots. Please take extra care to stay on the improved roads and parking areas until we receive some dryer conditions.

thank you

As an update as of 11:00 am we have now had one inch of rain since arriving this morning and it is raining hard as this is posted.

06/07/2026

Early this morning (6/7) we had another
1 1/4 inches of rain here at the club. All bays and ranges have some standing water. Please take extra care not to drive or park off the improved roads and parking areas. It may be a while before it dries. We have had at least three lightning strikes connect with buildings and/or equipment here at the club over the last couple weeks. When there is lightning within 3-5 miles you are required to stop shooting; i.e. put your fi****ms (portable lightning rods) back in your vehicle and wait for the storm to pass.

One lightning strike hit station 10 at sporting, one hit the building that houses s***t low 5/five stand #1 and one the bathroom at field one. We have a roofer that will be coming as soon as they can to replace the roof at field one bathrooms. We have replaced all the station 10 electronics and are working on the five stand machine #1 that seems to have taken the brunt of the hit on that building.

Trap field 2 will be closed today due to storm related issues.

Everything else is open. Stay safe.

A big congratulations to CCGC and Nueces 4H Trap and S***t Club member Cori Moench! She is the 2026 Texas State 12 gauge Open Champion and Lady's Champion at the Texas S***t Shooters Association Championships. After shooting a perfect 100/100 she then shot off against a field of 13 other perfect 100s (out of over 150 shooters), several of which are former World and State Champions. She went clean through the first box and into the second when it was down to just two shooters . She walked clean from station 4 and the other shooter dropped a target.

Pictures below of both the Open podium finishers and Ladies class. Then pictures of getting ready to start the second box.

Assome job Cori!

Last night we had another 4.75 inches of rain along with high winds. It is still raining as this is typed. This brings our total to 10.5 inches in the last eight days.

We will do our best to have s***t and trap fields open after lunch. If you are planning on shooting s***t or trap please call us after 1:00 pm to make sure we can open fields. Sporting Clays will not open today.

Pistol and rifle bays have standing water. Please take extra care to stay on the improved roads and parking areas.

thank you

05/20/2026

We have had 2 1/2 inches of rain here at the club, basically 1 1/4 inches each last two mornings. Expect standing water in low spots and some bays will be muddy. Please remember to stay on the improved roads and parking areas until it dries out.

Also our entrance gate card reader was knocked out in the storm Wednesday morning, to enter you will need to get out of your vehicle to walk around to swipe your card on the exit card reader at front gate. We are waiting on the fence tech to come replace/fix.
sorry for any inconvenience.
