it is with a heavy heart that i announce that the South Texas Budokan Dojo is closing. for 3 years we have carried on in honor of our late Sensei Richard Elizondo . I tried my best to make the school work but things never really took off despite online advertising and passing out flyers and cards. I want to thank everyone who helped keep the doors open for as long as we did. but mostly I want to thank my wife June Silguero for letting me poor so much of our own income into this month after month. she really understood how much this all meant to me to honor my sensei . but as she and many others have reminded me . he would not have wanted me to struggle so much financially so I'm finally letting go.i know one day we will reopen but for now it's back to the good old outdoors for our training.

this pic is from our last official class in the dojo. not many made it unfortunately but it was a good class and a nice send off.

Definitely a great message. something I hear all the time is that people are too embarrassed or nervous to start their training . but if you can just get past that first day you will have set yourself up for nothing but success.
Here at STX Budokan we make sure to leave our egos at the door and do our best to provide a welcoming atmosphere and though training can be tough we are always having fun.

practice,practice,practice.
training in a martial art can be very therapeutic.
