WE ARE HIRING!!! Certified Teacher for a K-8th Nature Based Learning. Wild Root Ranch Camp — Summer Teacher (Coastal Bend Ranch Academy)
Wild Root Ranch Camp at Coastal Bend Ranch Academy is hiring a full-time Summer Teacher to lead hands-on, nature-based learning for campers on our working ranch.
Position highlights
Dates: Summer 2026 June 1- July 31st
Schedule: M-F 7:30am-3:30 pm
Location: Wild Root Ranch (on-site, working ranch environment)
Compensation: Competitive; commensurate with experience
What we’re looking for
-Certified teacher (state teaching certificate required)
-Passion for natural, experiential education and outdoor classroom instruction
-Comfortable and experienced around animals
-Strong classroom management, leadership, and communication skills
-First Aid/CPR certified (or willing to obtain before start)
-Experience with hands-on curriculum (gardening, animal care, ecology, outdoor skills) preferred
-Ability to work collaboratively with camp staff and supervise youth ages 5-13
Key responsibilities
-Deliver engaging, standards-aligned, nature-based lessons and activities
-Lead animal-care activities and supervise safe interactions with ranch animals
-Manage camper groups, ensure safety, and model positive outdoor stewardship. 8/1 teacher ratio
-Coordinate with ranch staff for daily chores, trail/outdoor excursions, and camp routines
-Communicate with parents and staff about camper progress and incidents
-Assist with camp setup, takedown, and special events
