Texas A&M - Corpus Christi men's and women's tennis teams have consistently been one of the elite mid major NCAA Division I programs in the nation for the last 20 years. The men won the Southland Conference eight years in a row, reaching the Top 70 in the ITA national rankings 10 straight years and going to the NCAA Championships six of the last nine years.
2013 was a breakout year for the Islanders women's tennis team, reaching No. 60 in the nation, making the finals of the SLC tournament and finishing second in the regular season. The Islanders followed with a historic year in 2014, winning their first ever SLC regular-season title and tournament title, while advancing to their first NCAA Championship. The women continued their strong run in 2016, putting together the best season in program and school history. The Islanders went 21-0 in the regular season, winning their second Southland title and tournament championship. The Islanders made their second appearance in the NCAAs, falling to eventual National Champion Stanford. The highly acclaimed Thomas J. Henry Tennis Center, on the Momentum Campus, is a $2.4 million, state-of-the-art tennis facility less than a mile from Corpus Christi Bay. Texas A&M - Corpus Christi Director of Tennis Steve Moore brings a wealth of experience to the position, having been named Southland Conference Men's Coach of the Year nine years in a row, a record for SLC coaches in any sport. He has coached at Texas A&M, Texas Tech and SMU, three universities that reached the Top 25 nationally. He has taken teams to the NCAA Tennis Championships 15 times.

Both the men and women’s tennis teams consistently carry above a 3.0 GPA. The combination of this universities great name worldwide, its location on an island facing the water and the strong culture of success on the tennis team makes this a truly special place for the student-athletes and all who work here.
