Last night’s BYC Installation was amazing.
So much fun celebrating with our members, families, and sailors. So proud of how this year has unfolded.

Despite the threatening weather, the first edition of the Sabot Barracuda Bowl was nothing short of spectacular!
We squeezed in 7 awesome races, tons of smiles, and some incredible prizes. Thank you to BYC staff and its amazing volunteer force who made it all possible. Truly a community effort.

Can’t wait for the second edition!

Last week, hosted the 2025 Rose Cup Championship Regatta. Team BYC sailors - Siena Nichols, Maddie Nichols, Eddie Kliem, and Kai Brennan placed 🥈 overall!

The team has been training hard with Coaches Harrison Vandervort and Frankie Dair throughout the year.

The Rose Cup was originally held at Balboa Yacht Club and is named after BYC member Andy Rose. Big shout out to Brian, Becky, and Greg Newman for preparing and upkeeping the boats for back to back events this summer.

Congratulations to Dylan Sih and his team for their well-earned victory. Fun fact: The Rose Cup final had the same two teams as the last two Winter Cup finals.

Last weekend, 11 sailors from BYC Match Racing competed in Dickson Cup! Nearly half of the competitors!

Siena Nichols, Maddie Nichols, Kai Brennan, and Eddie Kliem won their first Dickson Cup, which was well deserved after a narrow finish last year! Dropped only one race after two days of competing.

The second BYC team consisted of Drew Gerlach, Luke Roe, Sophia Corzine, and Charlotte Carmichael. The team finished a solid 5th place. Plus, this was Drew’s first ever event as helm!

Huge thank you to Coach Harrison Vandervort for all his hard work with the Match Race team. Thank you to for hosting such a great event and big shout out to for all of her amazing photos!

Our Team BYC Summer Program applications are open! This summer is lining up to be the best summer yet, with a world-class group of coaches coming in to coach our teams. We are gearing up for several local National events (Sabot, Opti, and CFJ). Plus, our ILCA team is ready to continue to train hard in preparation for the local ILCA4 World Championships!

We are excited to launch our NEW ILCA Development Team program this summer coached by Tania Elias Calles, Junior Sailing Director.
