I have been seeing a lot of people in Corning that want to start walking more regularly and I wanted to throw the idea of starting a walking and running group out this way. I know my girl Ri has a walking and running group in Elmira, I also know how hard it is for some to make it down there, so I wanted to give the options here in our city.

Kids are welcome always!

I was thinking a Tuesday evening and Saturday mid morning like 10:30?

Tuesday evening running group and Saturday walking group?

No pressure and you do not have to be a runner to come and start running. We will be taking things slow to accommodate all of your beautiful faces that are just hopping on the train or getting back into it.

Recovery is one of the most overlooked parts of a fitness journey — but it’s where the real transformation happens. 🤍

You can train hard every day, but if your body isn’t recovering properly, you’ll constantly feel exhausted, inflamed, unmotivated, sore, and stuck in the same cycle without seeing the progress you deserve.

Recovery is more than just rest days.
It’s:

I wanted to take a moment to reintroduce myself and officially welcome you to this new chapter of Get Fit Wit Jo.

I’m Jo — a fitness and wellness coach passionate about helping women transform their lives through movement, nourishment, recovery, and confidence building.

This brand was created to be about so much more than physical appearance.
It’s about becoming stronger mentally, emotionally, and physically from the inside out.

After having baby B, and navigating the reality of motherhood along with his on-and-off illnesses, I’ve had to reevaluate how I can show up as the best coach possible for my clients. And honestly, shifting into virtual coaching allows me to do that at a much higher level.

This isn’t me stepping back — it’s me stepping into a more intentional version of coaching that provides my clients with more structure, more support, more communication, and more consistency.

As we head into the new year in just a few days, here are a few things to remember if you’re starting (or restarting) your fitness journey 💪✨

• Master proper form before adding weight
• Time under tension builds muscle
• Nutrition and recovery make up 80% of the equation
• Aim to eat your goal body weight in protein (grams) daily
• Strength training + cardio burns fat and builds lean muscle
• Choose discipline and consistency over motivation
• Stick with the same movements for 6–8 weeks to see progress
• You can build your dream body at home
• Get your 10,000 steps in daily
• Drink your water 💧
• Take your vitamins
