🌞HOW TO CHECK SADDLE PRESSURE

🙌🏼A Simple 6-Step Check For Better Fit

1️⃣SADDLE STATICALLY
Place the saddle on a level horse with a properly fitting pad. Girth snug but not tight. Let the horse stand naturally for a few minutes.

2️⃣CHECK WITH YOUR HAND
Slide your hand, palm up, between the saddle and the horse’s back. Feel for even clearance across both sides.

3️⃣CHECK FOR CLEARANCE
Look for clearance along the spine (withers to loins). You should be able to slide 2-3 fingers along the tree and inside of skirts .

4️⃣CHECK FOR ROCKING
Gently rock the saddle front to back and side to side. It should not rock more than a 1/2 “ side to side or front to back .

5️⃣CHECK IN MOTION
Ride the horse at a walk and trot on a straight line and a circle (both directions). Watch for freedom of movement and behavioral changes.

6️⃣RE-CHECK & RE-ASSESS
Unsaddle and check for even sweat patterns. Re-evaluate regularly-fit can change with muscle and conditioning.
