Held the first weekend in October, the Wineglass Marathon will celebrate it's 42nd year running in 2023! The Wineglass Marathon is a lovely flat, fast and scenic 26.2 mile race in the celebrated Finger Lakes Wine Country of Upstate New York. Happy W**eglass Wednesday! Did you know W**eglass used to have a relay race? Beginning in 1984, runners teamed up in threes, and tackled the marathon course in chunks. The first runner raced 9 miles, the second 9.2 miles, and the third runner covered the final 8 miles of the course! The relay was very popular and participation peaked in 1991 with 108 teams.
