The 12U Corinth- Alcorn County All-Stars put together a dominant performance last Saturday, June 6th in Amory, battling through tough competition to earn the DYS District Championship and bring home the title in impressive fashion.
After showcasing strong defense, timely hitting, and outstanding pitching throughout the tournament, the All-Stars sealed the championship with two convincing victories on Saturday, winning Game 1 by a score of 12-8 and Game 2 by a score of 12-4.
Leading the charge was pitcher Bradley McCoy, who turned in a remarkable performance in the circle. Bradley recorded 19 strikeouts, while three additional batters reached base on dropped third strikes, highlighting her ability to consistently overpower opposing hitters. At the plate, she was equally impressive, going 3-for-4 with two doubles, one single, a walk, and a hit-by-pitch.
The All-Stars’ offense remained hot throughout the day, receiving contributions from every part of the lineup.
Tatum Horn delivered one of the biggest extra-base hits of the tournament with a clutch triple, while Blakely Threadgill added a double to help spark the offense.
Fynlee Emerson reached base in every plate appearance, finishing 2-for-2 with two singles, one walk, and one hit-by-pitch, providing a steady presence at the top of the lineup.
Emi Jane King also had a productive day at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two singles and a hit-by-pitch, helping keep rallies alive throughout both championship games.
Olivia Burgess was another offensive standout, finishing 2-for-3 with two singles, two walks, and a hit-by-pitch, consistently finding ways to get on base and create scoring opportunities for her teammates.
The championship run was the result of a complete team effort. From stellar pitching and solid defense to aggressive baserunning and timely hitting, the 12U All-Stars played with confidence and determination throughout the tournament.
With the district title secured, the players celebrated alongside their coaches, families, and supporters after an unforgettable weekend of softball. The championship serves as a testament to the hard work, dedication, and teamwork displayed by the group all season long. This team will move on to the DYS Mississippi State Tournament June 26th- 28th in Columbia, MS
