We talk a lot about living a **balanced lifestyle**… but here’s the funny thing:
**Life itself isn’t very balanced.**
Think about your normal day.
You carry all the grocery bags in one hand because apparently making two trips is unacceptable. 😂
You hold a grandchild on one hip.
Carry a purse or backpack on one shoulder.
Pick something up while twisting.
Pull open a heavy door with one arm.
Haul gear, move furniture, shovel, garden, hike over uneven terrain…
Real life constantly asks our body to **carry, twist, bend, stabilize, and resist forces that aren’t perfectly even.**
That’s why training your core should be about more than crunches.
Your **re**us abdominis** helps control and support your trunk, while the small **multifidus muscles along the spine** play an important role in spinal stability and control.
A strong, functional core needs to be prepared to:
💪 Resist rotation
💪 Control side-to-side forces
💪 Stabilize while carrying uneven loads
💪 Bend, rotate and extend with control
💪 Keep the spine supported while the arms and legs are moving.
The goal isn't to make life perfectly balanced.
**The goal is to build a body strong and resilient enough to handle life when it isn't.**
Train for the groceries.
Train for the grandkids.
Train for the trail.
Train for LIFE. 🌿💪
