What is ADHD masking?
ADHD masking includes behavior like "suppressing symptoms, trying to hide your ADHD in public settings, or denying the real effect ADHD has on your life".
Research offers some insight into ADHD masking and its motivations.
**Individuals with ADHD, with self-protection in mind, may under-report symptoms and challenges – a problem that impairs diagnostic evaluations
**Girls and women with ADHD are more likely than boys and men to develop compensatory behaviors that mask ADHD, which helps to explain why males are more likely than females to receive a diagnosis.

What is the difference between therapy and coaching? I get this question a lot!

As a coach, I start with the assumption that all of my clients are whole, capable, and creative. My primary focus is on personal and professional development. Sometimes people are just stuck and don't know how to move forward. That is what coaching is about.

I work with individuals who are looking to enhance their performance or make positive changes in their lives. My approach is future-oriented, where we set goals together, identify your strengths and develop strategies to meet those goals. The relationship between my clients and me is based on collaboration and equal partnership. I work with my clients as a thinking partner.

Psychotherapy, on the other hand, is aimed at addressing mental health concerns and psychological issues. In therapy, the focus is on exploring deep-seated emotional issues and trauma.

It's important to note that coaching and psychotherapy are not mutually exclusive, and there can be overlap between the two.

In conclusion, as a coach, my main focus is on personal and professional development, while psychotherapy addresses mental health concerns and psychological issues. Both coaching and psychotherapy have their merits, and I believe in providing the most appropriate support based on the needs and goals of my clients.
