🚗 Going‑to‑the‑Sun Road Opening Update
The full length of Going‑to‑the‑Sun Road is expected to open to motorized vehicles on Monday, June 22 for the 2026 summer season. Rockfalls or other natural events may delay the opening, as conditions can change quickly.
đźš´ Full Length of Going-to-the-Sun Road Open to Bicyclists
Bicyclists can bike the full length of Going-to-the-Sun Road beginning today, June 18 and extending through June 21, before the road opens to vehicle traffic. As we prepare for opening, bicyclists should watch for administrative traffic beyond the vehicle closure, especially on Thursday and Friday, June 18–19.
đź”” Bicycling Safety Reminders
• Always wear a helmet
• Maintain safe speed and control
• Bicyclists must follow the same rules as motor vehicles
• Bring a headlamp for early morning or evening rides
• Never leave food unattended
• Mount and dismount e‑bikes carefully—battery weight adds 20+ lbs
• Only Class 1 pedal‑assist e‑bikes (≤750 watts) are allowed
• Carry and know how to use bear spray
• Check tire pressure and bring tools for repairs
🅿️ Parking Expectations
Visitors should only park in designated parking spaces throughout the park.
🌄 Visitor information services and the Glacier National Park Conservancy bookstore will not be available at the Logan Pass Visitor Center until June 22. Restrooms will be open. Bicyclists riding before June 22 should plan accordingly.
