Yesterday was a huge day for me! It marked 14 week post-surgery! My post-op appt is tomorrow so I don't know yet how much I am technically allowed to do but I started working out, sans weights, yesterday! I started with the 21 Day Fix and was able to do everything without any weights except for the push-ups, planks, etc. I feel so good and so sore today!! It feels amazing to be getting back into my early-morning workout routine!

Here are some good type 1 insights and a large part of what inspired me to start Hammer & Chisel! I was never a weight-training person but I have fallen in love with it and the benefits of lifting are huge!

I want to speak to all moms right now. I know how hard it can be to fit in time for each of your children, and your husband, let alone yourself. We make everyone else our priority. And they should be! We are called to serve and we are called to serve them. But something that I have learned is that I cannot neglect myself. Being diabetic, this is crucial. I just can't do it. I have to take care of myself so that I can can care of my family. This shoulder injury has emphasized the importance of daily exercise for me. That is why I am so excited about my mom's group that started today! As a group of moms, we are going to learn how to fit exercise and clean eating into our day to make us a better mom! There is still time to join! Message me and let's get started!

Calling ALL BUSY MOMS!!
We often prioritize our children, mom duties, and work over our own health and fitness. Let's face it: we are some busy women!
It's good to put our family first, but the fact is that if we don't take care of ourselves, we can't take care of our children as well either. So how about we change that?!

I am looking for 3-5 busy moms for my Fit Mom February group. We will commit to taking care of ourselves with 30 minute workouts, simple nutrition, and kid-friendly recipes. I will share what I've learned and how I've made health and fitness work in my life making me the best mom that I can be. We will support each other and keep one another accountable so we don't fall into the habit of putting ourselves on the back burner.

Transformation Tuesday!!
There is so much to say about Lesley! She truly changed her life. Not only did she lose 42 pounds, she turn her poor health completely around. Personally, I love her story because she was able to turn around her pre-diabetes and that, in and of itself, makes it all worth it! Here's her story:

"I was overweight and pre-diabetic. I was a refined carbs and caffeine addict. I was cranky without my bagel and coffee (with extra cream and sugar) fix. I also ate foods with lots of added sugars — it wasn’t abnormal for me to eat a BBQ chicken pizza and wash it down with a fudge brownie. This would usually result in me feeling overly full and sluggish.
Within 60 days, I witnessed incredible results that I could have never imagined for a simply “big boned” person like myself. I knew from then on that I would become dedicated to making healthy eating and regular exercise a lifestyle instead of a quick fix, like many diets.
Shakeology kept me full without feeling bloated, and it satisfied my sweet tooth at the same time. Shakeology is a great way to meet nutritional needs without sacrificing taste. I started drinking Shakeology as a law student suffering from caffeine withdrawals. Once I replaced coffee with Shakeology, I was able to better focus on my studies, and I saw my grades improve as a result. I like to think of Shakeology as an investment. It’s nearly impossible to ingest the amount of quality natural nutrients in Shakeology through eating food alone. I was pre-diabetic and suffered from adult acne. I no longer suffer from either!"
