💗 To My Girls Who Are Aging Out… 💗
This one is a little harder to write than most.
To the girls who are aging out of Little League softball — some of you I’ve had the privilege of coaching since Farms. I’ve watched you grow from little girls just learning the game into confident, strong young athletes. Some of you joined me when you reached Minors, and even though our time together started later, you quickly became a special part of this team. And then there’s my newest girl, who joined us this year and somehow managed to make her mark in such a short time.
Different beginnings… different journeys… but somehow you all became my girls. 💗
I’ve watched you strike out, get back in the box, make incredible plays, make mistakes, cheer for each other, laugh, cry, argue, grow, and most importantly — learn what it means to be part of a team.
As your coach and Commissioner, I’m incredibly proud of the players you’ve become, but even more proud of the young women you are becoming. Softball may have brought us together, but the memories we’ve made will last far beyond the field.
Watching you age out is bittersweet. I’m going to miss seeing you in that dugout, hearing you cheer, watching you compete, and being able to call you my players. But I know this isn’t the end — it’s just the beginning of whatever comes next for each of you.
Never forget where you started. Never forget the girls beside you. And never forget that there will always be someone in the stands, on the field, or somewhere cheering you on.
Thank you for trusting me to be your coach. Thank you for the memories. Thank you for the laughs, the tears, the wins, the losses, and all the moments in between.
Once a Copiague girl, always a Copiague girl. 💗🖤
I love you girls more than you know, and I couldn’t be prouder.
Now go show the next chapter what you’re made of. 🥎💗
Forever my girls.
