Took a breath to just admire the natural shine and condition of our horses at turnout tonight. Kismet is half Ahkal-Teke which makes her naturally a very slender body type, and she is also a picky eater, therefore one I am always watching weight on to make sure she keeps condition. Remy (picture 2) has been in the barn a little over a year and came very thin and covered in fungus head to toe. Slide #3 is a rehab (in terms of body condition) less than a week in and she is already blooming. Helping them transform is my favorite piece of the “management” part of this job.

Our baby pony “Bunny” had an exciting week doing big girl things. She got to fill in for a lesson on Tuesday (first time) with one of our teen students Lillith, who did an excellent job with her. She had her 4th birthday on Friday. And on Saturday she tagged along to a horse show for the first time and was very unphased by the sights and sounds. Very pleased with this one, time to get her in the show ring soon!

Saguaro Blossom aka Rowen is currently offered for borrow, our perfect boy is turning 17 and has done so much for our program over the past few years and I’d like for him to have a person of his own to spoil him. Best suited to 2’3 and below, can do hunters or jumpers but is more of a hunter/pleasure type. He is very tolerant of mistakes but does not like a heavy handed rider. Has a change both ways. No prep at shows, easy keeper and no vices in the barn. Very reasonable yearly option, with special consideration to someone that would keep him in our program.

The Bordeaux family is sad to be saying goodbye to as she moves south for her next chapter of life. Laura has always been one of the most cheerful and supportive team members here, always bringing home a smile from horse shows whether she brought home ribbons or just cheered on her friends. We wish her the best but will be counting down the days until she moves back home! đź’•
