The 2nd run has finally showed up and our Sockeye Madness trips are holding true to its name. Over 50 hook ups, 2 Kings, and a Pink all released and limits of Sockeye retained. We have openings on Sunday … Lets go!!!

Success rates on the Russian River for Sockeye have been great. Guides and private parties ARE limiting out. The ferry area is putting on a show and thus far has been one of the best openers in a while as all user levels are catching fish and LIMITS..Guide success in the area below the Ferry has been above average with most reports of limits versus a few or none. That's all I got...out!!!

The Upper Kenai River is on fire as the 2nd run of Sockeye start their spawning in the main river. Silvers are stacking up in most of their usual areas on the Upper down to Jim's. Vibrax spinners, Mepps Flying "C' and Little Cleo Spoons are working well on the hardware side and JD HBL leeches on the fly fishing side. The Russian River Dolly Varden and Rainbow fishing remains "red hot". Water levels could not be anymore perfect.

The rising waters are serving a purpose moving the 2nd run Sockeye spawners and more Silvers into the Upper Kenai River. Expect the river to crest on Thursday and drop quickly thereafter and prime for the weekend. get those beads ready!!!

A Pink year means 'lots of eggs"
