From PWSC to Alaska's Rivers
Prince William Sound College alumna Jane Churchill is living the dream.
During a recent visit to Cooper Landing, Dr. Benjamin Rush, assistant professor of Outdoor Leadership, caught up with Jane, who is spending the summer working as a raft guide.
Jane earned her associate of applied science in outdoor leadership at PWSC after also completing certificates in natural resources technician and marine natural resources technician. During her time at the college, she also gained hands-on research experience through the Alutiiq Pride Marine Institute, working with ocean chemistry and environmental science.
When the rafting season ends, Jane plans to head to Northern California to work at a ski resort this winter, continuing a career that keeps her outdoors year-round.
We're proud to see PWSC alumni building careers that turn a passion for the outdoors into a way of life. Congratulations, Jane!
