A younger version of the 26-27 Coolidge Bears- with seniors Porter Dees, Shane Enos, and Jalen Rodgers unavailable, beat CDO 55-52 on a last second three by Freshmen Juan Alvarez this afternoon to win the "Beat the Heat" Tournament hosted by Pima College Men's Basketball. Alvarez's game winner came off a long cross court pass from Turner Armstrong after a late CDO basket had tied the game at 52-52. Santi Nunez had two big buckets for Coolidge down the stretch.The Bears were coached Saturday and Sunday by CHS Class of 2022 Alumni and Summer Coach, Mark Clegg Jr., who will return to St. Martin's University for his senior season this July. We had over 50 kids the first week of Camp, and never less than 60 for Sessions 2 and 3. Big props and thanks to Coaches Carlos Coronado, MJ Clegg, JJ Jordan, Porter Dees, and Preston Dees. Thanks also to Julian Escalante and Christian Morales for helping!!

The D-League games scheduled for this afternoon are cancelled- too many guys are unavailable with Freshmen and JV playing in Phoenix. We will resume our regular Practice and Game schedule next week. The Program will conclude next Thursday, June 18.
