Pitch landing has a medium size gravel parking area and is managed by South Carolina Department of Natural Resources. It has 2 hard surfaced launching lanes with a dock to tie up to.

The map is showing the 4 trails that paddle around Pitch Landing, all combined together. Details about these paddles will shown in posts below.

The landing is about 97 miles from the dam according to the Waccamaw River Blue Trail and is on the west side of the river.

This trail starts at Billy Witherspoon and goes up the extensions of the river along the way. Wadus Lake is one of them. Another post show a trail that can be used that does not go into the river extensions.

This trail actually starts a Cox Ferry Lake Landing, but can still be used to navigate when leaving from Pitch Landing. Because it is a short paddle, you may decide to stop at Cox Ferry Landing and walk around the Cox Ferry Recreation Area.

This trail starts at Billy Witherspoon and passes by Pitch Landing and turns around by Cox Ferry Lake Landing. It is a nice short paddle and this trail can be used to navigate, even if you are leaving from Pitch Landing.

This trail actually starts at Reaves Ferry Landing and goes to Bucksport Marina. I will be letting you know how many miles are between the different landing. Even though this trail starts at Reaves Landing, it can be used to navigate to the landings near by.

Going downriver

Cox Ferry Lake Landing, which is showing at waypoint # 5 is only about 1/2 mile away.

J Todd Landing is about 2 miles away.

Bucksville Landing is about 6 miles away. You can short the trail by cutting through Thorofare creek instead of going directly past J Todd Landing. Because both landing are on the west side of the river, you can shuttle the vehicles if you want. Conway Riverwalk is about 2 miles away. If you wanted to go further upriver, like Kingston Lake. But only wanted to comeback to the riverwalk, so that you could eat here. You may want to shuttle your vehicles.
