I am only posting this for a reason. This happened to me in November of 2012, almost 4 years ago. Second to last game of my senior year in college:
- Broken Fibula, dislocated ankle, and ligament damage
- Surgery required a plate and 8 screws
- Doctor gave me a 6 month recovery time and told me I could start light jogging after 4 months
After surgery I was placed in a hard cast for 6 weeks. Just so happened that the day I got my cast off was the day that Christmas break started. They gave me a walking boot and crutches and told me that the walking boot was for protection and to use the crutches for 6 more weeks. Absolutely no walking for 6 weeks. Drove home from Greenville and immediately when I got home, walking boot and crutches went in the closet where they still remain. I was running on the treadmill a week later.
3 months after surgery I participated in a pro day for NFL teams where I ran a 4.39 40 yard dash, fastest 40 yard dash in the country for a Linebacker that year. I eventually signed a contract with the Indianapolis Colts.
I say all of that to say this: Do not let obstacles stand in your way. Do not take NO for an answer. Go get what you want. And DO NOT let someone else predict your future! I didn't have time to wait to chase what I worked a long time for. Sure I felt some pain, but the feeling of giving up would have been way worse.
