📣 OFFICIAL STATEMENT: Conway Kids Triathlon Results & Awards Update

We want to sincerely thank all the families, volunteers, and young athletes who came out for the Conway Kids Triathlon this past Saturday!

While we loved seeing so many kids cross the finish line, we need to take full ownership of two significant issues that occurred during the event regarding the bike course and our awards ceremony.

🔻 What Happened:

A super confusing issue on the bike course led to confusion for our 11–15 age group. To keep scoring fair for everyone impacted, we made the call to drop the bike portion for that division and convert their race to a Swim-Run format. Unfortunately, this update was not properly reflected in our timing software before the awards presentation, leading to several incorrect awards being handed out on stage.

🔻 We Own This & We’re Fixing It:

This was our mistake, and we sincerely apologize to the athletes and parents who were impacted. Our kids work way too hard training for race day, and they deserve an accurate, seamless experience.

🏆 Correcting Awards:

If your athlete earned a podium place based on the updated results and did not receive their award on Saturday, please send us a direct message here or email us at [email protected]. We will ensure every rightful winner receives their trophy/medal.

FAQs

Q: What do I do on race day?
A: Show up at the tent outside the Conway Community Center (look for the flag). We will give you your race chip, body marking and participant wristband.

Q: I already picked up my packet - do I still need to do this?
A: Yes - You MUST do this to get in transition.Racks are first-come-first serve, so show up, get your number and chip and find the perfect spot for you!

Q: Can I go inside and watch?
A: Yes - but you must have a wristband. EVERYONE will need a wristband, whether you are staying to play at the park after or just watching!

Q: When should I get there?
A: UPDATED: We will have people onsite as early as 5:30 to help get everyone through to transition. Packet pickup was originally slated to start at 6, but we don't want anyone to feel rushed!

Q: Where do I park?
A: There are signs for CKT parking!

Huge shout out to Ad Graphics for working with us on this year's Conway Kids' Triathlon shirts!

Our athletes will be easy to spot in bright green, and our incredible volunteers will be rocking orange as they help keep race day running smoothly.

We couldn't do this event without community partners who jump in and support local kids. Thank you, Ad Graphics, for helping make this year's race look great and making it easier to keep everyone moving in the right direction!

We'll have packet pickup available (there will be signage up):
📍 Friday (at the race site): 4:00–7:00 PM
📍 Race morning (Saturday): Beginning at 6:00 AM

If you can, we recommend stopping by on Friday to make race morning a little smoother. We can't wait to see all of our athletes this weekend!
