⛳️ Handicap check!

Currently sitting at a 16 handicap — and golfing 30 years, I’ve learned that your handicap can tell you a lot about your golf… but it can also teach you a LOT about your mind.

A few handicap facts:

🏌🏾‍♀️ Your handicap isn’t your average score. It’s a measure of your potential based on your recent scores.

🏌🏾‍♀️ You don’t have to shoot your handicap every round. In fact, you probably won’t.

🏌🏾‍♀️ A bad round doesn’t suddenly mean you’re a bad golfer. Just like one great round doesn’t mean you’ve “figured it all out.”

🏌🏾‍♀️ Your handicap is supposed to reflect your ability — not your worth. 😂

And THAT last one is the mental game lesson.

Golf has taught me the practice of radical acceptance.

The ball went OB? Accept it.

Three-putt? Accept it.

Triple bogey? Accept it.

Hit the most beautiful shot of your life? Enjoy it… and accept that the next one might be terrible too. 😂

The goal isn’t to control every outcome. The goal is to accept what happened, stay present, and make the best decision with the shot you have in front of you.

Because you can’t change the scorecard.

You can only decide what you do next.

To me, I think that applies to WAY more than golf.
