THROWBACK 🎣🏔️

Bass fishing in the mountains with my oldest when she was just 4 years old. Caught an absolute HOG and she hasn’t stopped loving the water since.

Crazy how time flies by. This is still one of my favorite lakes to ever fish calm water, big fish, and amazing memories.

Bucks are lying LOW at the farm right now. Me and my boy just sat back and watched these doe bedded in the grass for 10 minutes before they took off.
It would be easy to get caught up chasing antlers. But for me it’s never been about killing the biggest buck. It’s about slowing down, watching God’s creation, and making memories with my son that will outlast any of mount on the wall.
That’s what it’s really about.

PUBLIC LAND STUD ALERT 🚨‼️
We found the spot. Acorns are starting to drop, sign is everywhere, and we got an absolute stud on camera. I think it’s the 8 point we chased last year. Last year he was pushing 130” as an 8. This year?
This is what public land hunting is all about no feeders, no fences, just hard scouting, sweat, and a little luck. Public land season about to fire up. Waccamaw Outdoorz crew going in early.

There’s nothing better than this.
A kid in camo, eyes wide, looking out at God’s creation with wonder. No screens. No noise. Just a green field, a quiet blind, and a heart ready for adventure.
This is how we pass it on to future generations.
To every kid who’d rather be in a tree stand than on a video game, who knows the sound of crickets at dawn and isn’t afraid of a little dirt keep going. The outdoors needs you.

Hot 🔥off the press your weekly hunting report 🦌 Hunt forecast for 7-14:
• Morning 4/5 Moderate-High - Best 6:15-9:45AM. That NE wind after the Sunday night storms is money. Cool dawn + new moon = bucks on their feet longer coming off feed.
• Evening 4/5 Good - Best 6:30-8:00PM. Still early season in SC — not rut yet, it’s all bed-to-feed. Focus on white oaks dropping near water, and soybean/peanut field edges.
Pro tip: Your best sits this week are 9/10-12 right around that new moon dark period. Hunt mornings, get in early. Evening hunts will be good but watch thermals drop near swamp bottoms.

Opening Day 2026 is in the books.
Didn’t see any of my shooters, but the woods were ALIVE. 8 does in total. 4 in this group that came by close. Feeding right down the shooting lane at last light.
This is why we do it. Heart pumping, wind right, season just getting started.
The big boys are close. We’ll be back in the tree Thursday morning.

Your money window. Bucks hitting soybeans, peanuts, and early white oak acorns before dark. Set up tight to timber cover near water.
The Intel:
🌡️ 68-84°F - Cooler dawns = better daylight movement
💨 NW 5-10 MPH - Perfect for stand placement, play the wind
🌙 Waxing Gibbous 55% - Steady feeding times mid-morning & dusk
Tactical Tip: Don’t push too deep. P*e Dee bottomland deer are pressured early. Hunt the edges, soybeans meeting hardwood drains, water holes. Scent control is critical with high humidity. Antlered only until Sept 15 per SCDNR!
