💛💙📣Senior Spotlight📣💙💛

My last senior is Kenzie Miller.

Kenzie has cheered at Oak Hill for 6 years.
Her favorite memory was her senior year of UCA camp at IU in Bloomington. “I will forever cherish the memories and bonds created this camp. This camp grew my relationships with the girls and we left the camp not just as teammates, but as family. It was definitely the best camp ever.”
Kenzies advice to the underclassman is to cherish every single moment because it goes by way to quick. Enjoy all the practices and games because it will be over before you know it. Love and treat your teammates as family because you spend so much time with them and creating bonds and memories makes the experience 100x better! Lastly, make me the most out of every moment, because like I said it'll be over before you know it.
She plans to attend college which is still undecided, but her top choice is Ball State University.
She would like to give a special thanks to all of her family members and friends who come to every game and show up to support her. “I'd like to especially thank my mom for always making sure I have everything I need no matter the price and for her always showing up for me. Lastly, I would like to give a huge thanks to coach Amber. I wouldn't be the cheerleader I am today without her pushing me to be what she knows I can be. She pushes me to be the best I can. She's always putting us girls up to the challenge and never gives up on us because she knows we can do hard things ( as she always says). She loves us girls not just as her cheerleaders, but as if we were her own, and I will miss her lots.” It’s true, I would do anything for these girls, even after high school.
We will definitely miss Kenzie next year. Don’t forget that that Senior night is February 24th. Make sure you come out and support all of our seniors.

My next senior is Maddie Monahan

Maddie has cheered for 6 years.
Her favorite memory was going to UCA camp at IU this past summer.
Maddie’s advice ti the underclassmen is to always try to have a positive mindset when cheering. “It can be hard, but you don’t cheer your best when you’re upset or in a bad mood. Staying positive allows you to truly enjoy practices and games and have fun throughout the season.” I, 100% agree with this, and not just in cheerleading!
Her future plans include attending Ball State University for Elementary Education.
Maddies special thanks is “to thank my family for always making time for my crazy cheer schedules, and I want to thank my teammates, especially this year, for supporting me and each other to make this sport fun.”
This year has definitely been one for the books! Lots of fun times, practices, and the team showing up for each other! As a coach, you not only want the team to succeed in the sport, but in life. This has truly been a fun year and these seniors have contributed to that.

💛💙📣Senior Spotlight📣💙💛

My next senior is Carmen Roy.

Carmen has been a cheerleader for 6 years, 3 of them at Oak Hill! 🦅
Carmen’s favorite memory was spending the last night of UCA camp this year hanging out with my teammates and staying up way later than we should’ve. (I think they were making some special “how to” videos, 🙄)
Her advice to the underclassmen would be to enjoy the time that you have on the team. It’ll go by quicker than you think.
Carmen will be attending the University of Alabama to study psychology and pre-med.
She would like to give a special thanks to her parents for always showing up.

We will definitely miss Carmen and her harmonica next year and I was so blessed that she was able to cheer for me as an Oak Hill Golden Eagle!
Senior night is February 24th. Make sure you come out and support all of our seniors.

💛💙📣Senior Spotlight📣💙💛

My next senior is Lexi Nuber!

Lexi has cheered at Oak Hill for 5 1/2 years!
Her favorite memories are the practices where everyone is in a silly mood and we laugh until our stomachs hurt. “It’s such a joy to watch everyone have fun being goofy together.”
Lexi’s advice to the underclassmen is to be yourself right from the start and make it your goal to have fun! “Cheer can be stressful and draining at times, but it’s so much more difficult if you’re trying to be someone you’re not. Let cheer be a source of joy— that’s the only way it’ll be worth it!”
She plans to attend Butler University to study Health Sciences Pre-Med.
Lexi wants to give a special thanks to Jesus for the opportunity to be part of this team, her parents for always encouraging her and coming to all our games, and all the girls before me who modeled what it means to be a good cheerleader and a great teammate. 😊

I agree with Lexi, we have definitely had some amazing role models on and off the floor. This has been such a fun year with these seniors. They too have set the bar high for Oak Hill Cheer and are great role models to all the young cheerleaders to come after them. Proud to be an Eagle💙💛📣🦅
