Not all Pilates Instructors are trained to the same standards and experience matters. Industrial equipment : Reformers, Cadillacs, CoreAlign, and GYROTONIC® equipment can cause real harm if misused. Knowing the proper spring settings, modifications, transitions, and how to spot a client on equipment is earned through thousands of hours, not months or weekends.
The body gives feedback slowly. Unlike a heavy-lifting injury that's immediate, poor Pilates instruction compounds over time, reinforcing compensation patterns, skipping necessary progressions, or missing contraindications for clients with injuries, osteoporosis, pregnancy, or post-surgical histories. An experienced instructor catches these things before they become problems.
All bodies can do Pilates but not ALL bodies are the same. Teaching a healthy 28-year-old is straightforward. Teaching someone with a hip replacement, a hypermobile client, a postpartum client, or someone with chronic low back pain requires years of pattern recognition that no training manual can fully replicate.
Results compound with good instruction. Clients who work with experienced instructors tend to progress faster, stay injury-free longer, and develop genuine body awareness rather than just going through motions or copying the person next to them.
At The CORE Movement Studio, every session is led by an NCPT-certified instructor with 11+ years of experience and specialized training in CoreAlign®, and the GYROTONIC® Expansion Method. You deserve to know more about who's teaching your body. 💪
