First off I want to say thank you to the 98 players that showed up this weekend even when the weather was telling y’all not to. It really means a lot to see that kind of support 🙏🏽.
This was my first time running Texas State Am Dubz, and I have to give Matt Stillwagon his flowers 🌹 because after doing this I can tell you it is not easy. At the same time, it was one of the most rewarding and fun events I’ve ever run.
My biggest shoutout has to go to my staff. These guys showed up for me 110% all weekend 💪🏽. My right hand Bryan Trahan was huge behind the scenes and it was all hands on deck even though he was also competing in the event.
David Freund was no different. The man cooked 3 briskets and 3 pork butts for EVERYONE 🍖🔥 and still went out there and played the tournament.
Lance Mondragon is the best hype man in the game 📣 and runs the shop like it’s his own. He’s the type of guy that just gets things done without even being asked.
Big shoutout to Trevor who spotted Hole 4 all weekend, rain or shine ☀️🌧️ and did it on his birthday 🎂.
Last and definitely not least, Matt Barajas. He was with me from start to finish planning this event and helping run the course. Without him, this event doesn’t happen. These guys are the reason events like this are even possible.
I also want to thank every single player for allowing me to be your TD and trusting me to make some tough calls this weekend with the weather and pace of play. Everyone stuck with me and trusted the decisions I had to make and that made things a lot less stressful for me as a TD, and I truly appreciate that 🤝🏽.
Huge thank you to our sponsors as well 🙌🏽.
🍺 Southern Star Brewing for supplying the beer for the weekend.
💼 Summit Insurance for adding cash to the event — and if you need insurance make sure to reach out to me, Jay Almaguer.
🥏 Big thanks to Mint Discs and Lucky Ace Loot Bags for helping make the players packs awesome.

For me, the biggest highlight was just the time spent with the people I’ve built relationships with here in the Houston area and even beyond. A lot of y’all come back and play this event every year and those are memories I’ll hold onto forever ❤️.
I will also share something personal — I’ll be moving back to San Antonio in May, so this was the last event I’ll run while living in Houston. But this isn’t the end. I’ll still be running events with and through my amazing team here that will hold things down while I head home to be closer with my family 👨👩👦.
Thank y’all again for the support. I’ll be sharing more information soon about next year’s plans, including a fun series of events leading up to the championship 🥏.
I also told everyone this event would travel around Texas to make it a true Texas State event… so with that being said…
📍 2027 we will welcome y’all to The Ranch Disc Golf Course in Waelder, Texas!
