Connersville has been selected to host postseason play

IHSAA sports information director Jason Wille announced that the Spartan Bowl in Connersville will replace Southport for the regional round this season. The change of venue comes in response to renovations being done at the fieldhouse in Southport.

Highlights from Connersville at Franklin County football on Friday sponsored by Wiley's Wash & L**e.

Franklin County improved to 2-0 on the season following a 28-17 win over Connersville at Franklin County last Friday. The Wildcats will travel to Rushville for a matchup with the 0-2 Lions at 8:00 p.m. tomorrow evening. Connersville moved to 1-1 on the season and will travel to Greensburg for a matchup with the 1-1 Pirates on Friday.

Girls soccer lost to union County 2-1 Candace Graves scored the only goal; Maddy Osborn had 6 saves.

The JV soccer team beat Warren Central 7-1 Jill Smith scored 3 goals Lexi Cavinws Frances Kelley Ellie Jennings and Izzy Couch had 1 goal each.

Connersville bounces back with a win over South Dearborn

The Spartans came away with a 5-0 victory against South Dearborn last night. The Spartans are now 7-1 on the season and travel to Greensburg tonight for another conference match.

Spartans pick up 5-0 shutout at Union County

Connersville boys soccer team (2-1-1) traveled to Union County to take on the Patriots (2-4) Tuesday evening. The Spartans would post four first half goals to help them take the game 5-0.

For the Spartans, Gavin Jones and Lakin Lakes would both score two goals and Colton Wise would add another. Nolan Matney, Jacob Laughlin (3 assist in the game), Cooper DeBoard, Wise and Jones would all pick up at least one assist. While Wyatt Bolander would make five saves in his shutout win.

The Spartans now 3-1-1 will return to action on Saturday when they host South Dearborn at 10 am. The Patriots (2-5) will travel to play Jac-Cen-Del on Thursday at 6 pm.

Lady Trojans remain undefeated as they defeat the Lady Spartans

The Connersville Lady Spartans (1-3) volleyball team traveled to New Castle on Tuesday evening to take on the New Castle Lady Trojans (3-0). The Lady Spartans were coming off of their first win of the season on Saturday against Eastern Hancock and in the first game looked poised to continue building on that momentum. The Lady Trojans rebounded after the first to win 3-1 (15-25, 25-19, 25-20 and 25-15).

The loss makes the Lady Spartans 1-4 on the season. They will return to action on Saturday when they travel to Rushville to take on the currently 1-5 Lady Lions who will have a home match with South Dearborn on Thursday as well. Game time is set for 10 am Saturday.

The Lady Trojans (4-0) are scheduled to host Knightstown this evening and then travel to Northeastern on Thursday.
