Ashtabula County Ohio Soap Box Derby

Ashtabula County Ohio Soap Box Derby Northeast Ohio Soap Box Derby (NEOSBD) is currently raced once a year down Broad Street in Conneaut, Ohio and takes place the Saturday before Father's Day.

Thr upcoming 2016 race marks the 32nd year the NEOSBD has been raced in Conneaut, Ohio. There are three divisions, stock (beginner level), super stock (intermediate), and masters (advanced) for kids ages 7 to 17. If a racer wins in any of these divisions, he or she wins the chance to compete in the All-American Soap Box Derby (AASBD) in Akron, Ohio against other racers from all over the world. Win

ning at the AASBD results in a world championship title, often along with a scholarship fund and other prizes. For more information on each of the divisions and the AASBD, visit: www.aasbd.org

Started the morning off with a parade of all the champs down the track!

Rocco was first from our local, racing in lane 3 - he lost by a 0.01 overall. Abby was next and she won her first heat. Bella raced Masters and lost her first heat down the hill.

The International Soap Box Derby World Championship Race is such an amazing thing to compete in. It’s single elimination, which means a whole lot more racers lose than they those who win! There are so many racers who make it all the way here to be out after their first run.

Hopes are high, losses are hard but we’re proud of our racers!!!

A big Congratulations to our Rally Racer, Cayson Hayes, on taking third place in the rally masters division!!! What an accomplishment!!!
