At Bonedesign Custom Rods, we create each and every fishing rod to fit our customer’s exact needs. The style, size, grip and feel of every rod is made with the sole purpose of providing the highest level of fishing experience possible. Individual Technical Specifications:
• We match the rod blank to specific the fishing preference, line, and reel
• We custom match rod guides for each type of fishing
• We custom craft the reel seat to the reel and the angler, i.e.: hand size (for a comfortable grip.) Reel seat materials include a choice of urethane foam, aluminum, and wood.
• We custom match grip material to the angler’s specs. Available grip materials include:
o Cork
o EVA Foam
o Urethane Foam with Composite Skins
o Wood
o Aluminum
o All of our grips are machined to meet our customer’s exact needs
Tailored Individual Design:
• We select thread colors and blank color to match angler’s preferences, boat colors, etc.
• Almost any image can be included in the design either through weaving or through the use of decals. Ex. Fish species, mermaid, skull-n-bones, flag etc..
• Resin castings can be created to encase gemstones, mementos.
• Custom rods are created one rod at a time and are unique to the owner.

Our fly fishing guide trips and classes are lead by a staff who are as passionate about fly fishing now as they were when they first discovered the sport. They have forged this passion into a literal “career-of-sharing” through their guiding and teaching. Experienced, knowledgeable & friendly, their number one priority is that you have a great fly fishing guide trip. Their only goal to give you an outstanding guide trip angling for the beautiful rainbows, browns and cutthroats of the crystal clear and free-flowing streams and rivers of our tall Rocky Mountains. Many people see fly fishing as the lesser known brother of traditional fishing methods, but in reality, the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service estimates that there are around 3.83 million fly anglers in America alone. This goes to show just how popular the sport really is, and for those who want to try their hand at it, it’s good to know a few basic ideas related to the activity. Fly Casting LESSONS:

Christian and the rest of our guide staff are true students, and teachers of fly casting. For us, casting is not just a part of fly fishing, but a separate sport in itself. The key to improving your cast is to be aware of what and when you are casting correctly vs. incorrectly. The only way to do so is to video tape yourself casting, and to watch others cast. Through modern video technology, we are able to break your cast down frame by frame and eliminate the wasted and “inefficient” movements to make your next day in the wind, or in the salt more enjoyable. Many ask, “Why do I need to be able to cast 90+ feet in Colorado?” The answer is you don’t, but the mechanics of a 90 foot cast will make the 30 foot cast into the wind very easy for you. It will also help you understand the bending (loading) and unbending of the rod. This is very important in become a good roll caster. Common Types of Casting Lessons Clients Request…
