This page is dedicated to documenting the history of Steve Saleen and Tim Allen's infamous RRR Speedlab Racing team, racing Saleen SN95 SR Mustangs during the 1995 thru 2000 seasons. Saleen-Allen RRR Speedlab Racing was formed in late 1994 by Steve Saleen and actor/comedian Tim Allen, star of the hit TV show Home Improvement. Allen’s investment in the team landed him a racing seat and a dominant p
osition for the Home Improvement logo on the hood of the racing cars. After a crash course at Bob Bondurand’s racing school Allen actually did a pretty decent job in the races that he managed to attend and quickly became a crowd’s favorite. The ‘Home Improvement’ Mustangs, dressed up in their eye catching livery, delivered a massive boost to the Saleen brand name recognition during the mid to late 90’s. The team ended up running various iterations of the Saleen SR Mustang over a period of 6 seasons in several different road and endurance racing classes. After a hit and miss start in 1995 they already grabbed their first championship in 1996. Saleen focussed the 1997 race season around participating in the infamous 24 Hours of Le Mans. After that massive endeavour the team returned to racing in the United States and increasingly dominated their classes all the way through the 2000 season, sweeping up various driver and manufacturer titles. During the 1999 and 2000 seasons the team raced a heavily modified new widebody version of the Saleen Mustang SR, which was styled to match the facelifed 1999 'New Edge' street cars. The 2000 race car is still on display at Saleen's current headquarters in Corona CA. Since most of these years were pre-massive internet not a lot of video, pictures or other information has been preserved. This page is meant as a tribute to the Saleen-Allen team, bringing together all media and infos that did survive.
