******For 8th grade families only****
1. Prior to anything please contact me directly at [email protected] if you have questions or want your student to participate
2. Only those interested in their child potentially being part of a Brady team need to reach out.
3. Other than field hockey your player must be registered with St John’s prior to participating. You can only go to one team’s evaluations. So if you go to soccer for Brady you can not go to Cross Country for Brady.
4. Just because you go to evaluations there is no guarantee your player will be on the team

Bishop Brady High School and St. John Regional School are excited to share a new athletic opportunity for eligible St. John 8th grade students interested in Cross Country, Field Hockey, Boys Soccer or Girls Soccer.
This opportunity is an extension of Superintendent Thibault’s announcement this past spring and the continued effort to bring Bishop Brady and St. John together in spirit as one PreK-12 school community. As a Division IV school (based on enrollment), Bishop Brady has the ability, when program numbers warrant, to request NHIAA approval for qualified 8th grade students to participate in high school athletics.
Interested St. John 8th graders are invited to attend Bishop Brady evaluations and varsity tryouts on Monday, August 17 and Tuesday, August 18. Students will participate in the regular evaluation and tryout process alongside Bishop Brady student-athletes. Tryout times and locations can be found on www.BradyGiants.org
To be eligible to participate in the evaluation and tryout process, the 8th grade student must email Bishop Brady Athletic Director Aaron House ( [email protected] ) prior to attending. Mr. House will then share the student’s name with St. John Athletic Director Nick Hayes and the appropriate Bishop Brady Varsity Head Coach so that both schools are aware of the student’s participation.
It is important for families to understand that attending evaluations or tryouts does not guarantee a position on a Bishop Brady team or eligibility to participate. Following tryouts, the Varsity Head Coach will make a recommendation to the Bishop Brady Athletic Director regarding whether a Below Grade Nine waiver should be pursued for the student.
If Bishop Brady determines that a waiver request is appropriate, the Bishop Brady Athletic Director and Principal will submit the request to the NHIAA Below Grade Nine Athletic Participation Committee. Final approval rests with the NHIAA, and a student cannot participate as a rostered member of a Bishop Brady team unless the waiver is approved. If approved all St. John student athletes must also participate on the team they were slated to be rostered on this Fall (the exception being Field Hockey).
This opportunity is intended to strengthen the connection between our two school communities while providing St. John students, when appropriate and permitted by the NHIAA, an opportunity to begin experiencing Bishop Brady athletics as future Giants.
